Maybe they did this in response to the recent "tribute" piece that was exposed as a scam? Or maybe it was planned before that.

Although I don't know wtf qualifies something as a tribute vs scam now.

Spamper was an old member here, though I don’t think he’s been active in a while. When I saw his name, I was like hey Spamper! Don’t know who or what Pied Piper or Keleidoscope are.

 

I believe Shig had been working with a production team for quite some time and left several projects unfinished. This is that team. Kaleidoscope is a vintage shop that’s been acting as distributor for Goro’s Rikidizer series.

Those "tribute" pieces are made by counterfeit master Zhengzheng AKA IG (sofubi_sales_fuxk_your_mother).

 

I believe all those names/brands mentioned were close friends of Nag.

I’ve recently seen a few Nag balls on YJA go for “cheap” (compared to what I’m used to seeing them go for).. are these actually part of the counterfeits mentioned?

99%. There was one that sold a month or two ago that wasn’t. A blank version of the luchador mask one that was released at Mishka in NY, I want to say 2012? Came with an old looking sticker… ?AG instead of N?G. All signs pointed to fake but it wasn’t. Not really worth the risk IMO.

It's interesting to me how sparse the past few retrospective shows have been. I guess the pieces here in particular are all Medicom owned, but still it looks so minimal.
