Hahaha ! I have considered it seriously ... and was actually thinking about it this morning ! Very superficial research has suggested it might be costly to produce a video NFT. I could crowdfund it !

There were pictures which led to speculations, fueled by rumours.

Medicom 6ft Nag for 40k & new one-off run of Nagballs after 10 years for 2k retail?

Gotta wonder if the eyes that definitely DIDN'T take 4 hrs to paint are Shig's way of taking the piss...

I can’t tell what that edition means on the balls. Seems more like there are 10 of each color. Which would make sense, if medicom is going to do something it seems like 5 one offs wouldn’t be enough money for them.
It looks like the eyes are now inset. And the paint app doesn’t even look like Shigs, not that he isn’t a good painter these are just a little too polished- look more like they were executed by the medicom paint team with his supervision, which also leads me to feel like each is a run of 10.

I was confused by that as well. I assume there are 5 variants, 2 of each. Not sure if they're being sold individually or as a set. For nearly $18k I'd guess the latter, but at 45cm in diameter who knows what they expect people to pay. They're asking for just under $20k for the one-off 400% Coop BE@RBRICK so those may very well be individual prices.

At this stage . . . why worry?

Kinda like worrying whether it would be gauche or just ironic to order the Bugatti La Voiture Noire in white if you had the $18 mill to buy one!

the wooden 4 eyes for sure is the bargain of the offerings? 10k is wild, but i feel its a safe acquisition. the edition sizes is hard to interpret for sure, but i look at that 6 foot and cant help but compare it to the kaws 4 footer... there has to be a bigger run( or at least plans for future releases) to make it make sense for medicom... although 40k versus $2500 makes it easier to lower the PPP needed to turn a profit, so the run can technically be substantially smaller.

They already sold a one off 6 ft 4 eyes for ¥2,800,000. I imagine they will continue to sell them 1 at a time, cycling through the heads. Gradually raising prices until they find the max.

I also don’t know what production on a figure that size costs, but it seems like they are relying on the balls to be the real money maker. Which I get, to the art collector it’s easier to display/store and probably an easier thing to explain to the average Joe who comes for a visit.

agreed, I don't see them having a problem selling at that price... I'm sure there is still a line of those willing to pay that price and potentially more, although that line is a lot shorter. The story of Shig/Nag just gains yet another chapter.

Unrelated to Nag, but these Shelterbank retail prices have become insane.
