Hello guys many months ago i bought justin ishmael's cyclops on the m1go tricycle online. it didn't arrive and justin doesn't reply to my mails. do you have any news? do I need to worry?
I don’t think you need to worry in the sense that Justin won’t deliver. He’s a good dude, just insanely busy. I have no doubt they’ll arrive at some point, especially since the signed versions have already been delivered. Production times can vary pretty vastly, especially with covid tying up mail and delivery. I ordered the trike myself and vaguely remember the original estimated time of delivery being June or July. It was an open pre - order, so it’s possible that the order number was larger than anticipated, therefore taking longer to produce. Pour, pull, paint, and trike builds sounds like a lot to go into each Cyclops. It’d be nice to have any sort of general update, but I’m not worried about not receiving my order. Just don’t know when!
Yeah dude haven’t got mine either so who knows. Hell I also made a seperate order with M1 when I was in Japan earlier in the year and haven’t heard a thing. Just have to wait and hope I suppose. I wouldn’t stress.
It’s still available as a pre-order on his site with a Q3 Q4 date given for fulfillment. I can only guess at absurd quantity they probably have to make. I’m sure they have their work cut out for them to get these orders fulfilled.
@Biff I think they might’ve started, since the signed ones were done in August, and Justin had made a post that they were in production. Perhaps it’s just a waiting game of shipping them altogether, as opposed to in waves?
The signed ones where prototype production and were limited. The prototype was slightly bigger than the actual pre-order standard production versions.
@chimply.kaiju Ohhhhhhh!!! Thank you for that tidbit of info, Anthony! This, I was unaware of! Even still, Justin did make a post back in August that they’re in production over a photo of Yuji signing the prototype boxes! I guess I’m just stayin’ optimistic and hopeful we’ll see an update soon!
@xSuicide Squadx Unfortunately the prototype version was touching the back of the bell where it could not ring. The pre-order versions are slightly smaller and correct this problem.
^^^ They should've hired you Anthony, to do the product testing! Big oops there, but at least they caught it before general production
Fully second this! But I think I remember the product description on Justin's site mentioning the figure would be larger and highlighting the bell issue, at least. It was what made me preorder instead of trying for that first run.
Just saw a comment Justin made on a recent post that said the trikes should be shipping in December. That they’re still being produced by M1.
I can't think of any other hobby where people get away with a total lack of communication after they have your money like they do with sofubi.
I'd say the laissez-faire attitude is more common than not in any hobby or interest where passion (or want) takes the place of need. This is only exacerbated by people within the hobby becoming suppliers and turning their interest into a business. On the upside, it is a hobby, so if it ceases to be enjoyable, for any reason, you can always step away.
Ha ha. Have you ever bought anything from Mighty Jaxx? I have an item that has taken three years. THREE YEARS! Maybe it will show up when trump ever concedes. So, when pigs fly.
@Biff I thought so, too! I didn’t realize the vinyl base was actually flesh, and it was cool to see the paint masks for the eyes and pupils. A lot is goin’ into each of those for a one man operation!
Yuji is a total mensch. I collected 3A in a different life, so no amount of waiting bothers me anymore. Life is good when you get yourself that vinyl fix I don’t like this particular trike, but all of the other ones are real beauties and I’m sure this one will have just as much attention to detail. Will be worth the wait, I bet
