Strange or rare MODERN auctions post here when they're over

Unsurprising, but it stings a bit to see auction prices on this one continue to rise. This has been my grail since it came out, but I was unemployed in 2012 and never had a shot at finding it early on. There will always be a few people who have no qualms with driving up prices indefinitely, and YJA's auto extensions enable petty bidding wars. This one extended more than 20 minutes.

Would be nice to at least see a new Mirock collab as consolation.

 

Woof! I think that's the highest I've seen one go for. A new RxH x Mirock would be a dream, but with the way both artists are moving I think it's unlikely. We've been wishing for years now. Still, you never know.

I have not bought anything fancy on the open market for a couple of years now. I wonder what's driving the recent spike in prices for old toys--if it's just dolls drying up, or more macroeconomic.

And a sealed purple one sold on eBay for around $8000 a few years ago.

 

Yeah, given the Zembu price sealed I was hoping this one would at least stall around $5k. Alas.

 

The right one (2.5K) is definitely a good price consider current market value.

 

Given that one just went for 11K on YJA I would say that they’re both steals

 

They'd definitely sell for more if listed on Yahoo Japan or Mandarake auction.

 

Gah! I was out hiking yesterday and missed a red Finkshit that ended up going for just over 2 hundred! Oops…. What a steal…. Who got it???

Definitely the cheapest I’ve seen one go for in the past 10 years at least.

 

Perhaps nature is healing.

 

I found my green version in Mandarake Shibuya during my 2015 trip for $200USD. My favorite find of the entire two months, sans the Thrashout Gargadeath for $60USD I found in Nakano Broadway.

crazy recent Yahoo Japan auction.

 

This was a rather interesting one. Effectively, Bemon is saying that this is one of the first Kougai from 2005.

"This is a coloring sample of the first phase of Pollution Monster, which was released in 2005 as BEMON's first soft vinyl! This is a very valuable item as one of BEMON's first productions! It is very powerful with a lot of very gorgeous paint on the phosphorescent (glow-in-the-dark)! The sample is about 20 years old, so there are small bald spots and other signs of age (please judge by the photos), but it is a very valuable item with a tremendous aura! If you are looking for it, this is a great opportunity!"

 

It’s always a massive, massive pleasure to see one offs from the first production run. I’ve only really ever found collective photos from Yoda’s booths or shop, so getting these standalone shots is rad as hell to feast the eyes on.

 

And I'm happy to see pieces like these coming strait from the artist himself. I can't say that it's my favorite color application, but its historical value is unquestionable.

 

@bbb Very much so! Honda havin’ his own account he sells through is super interesting and funny from what I’ve been told by some of his older friends. But I do also very much appreciate that new Kougai and 2HBemon vinyl colors and paints have come out of it, too.
