I just want you guys to wallow in my sorrow looking at these Marmit Ultra-kaiju auction prices.... Looks like I won't be collecting the rest of the ones on my want list, haha...WTF! (single tear dripping down my cheek) ¥301,000 ?! https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/s1041092705 ¥291,129 https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/u1044568147 ¥211,000 https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/j1046194825 ¥191,000 https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m1045666141 ¥131,311 https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/x1047961282 ¥125,000 https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/j1030460620 ¥70,000 https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h1046977711
anyone got any idea how to view these yja links in the UK/EU? seems that I can't even browse the site since they stopped selling to this part of the world
@doomboy I think in other threads, people have suggested using a VPN and connecting to a non EU/UK server, like one in the US. Then it looks to yahoo like you are browsing from the US. I'm in Texas and sometimes do the reverse to use BBC iPlayer which is blocked to US locations. There are lots of VPN services. I use Mulvad VPN from Sweden for 5€ a month and I've been happy with the service for years.
Here is another one.... ¥110,000 for a Marmit Zemistlar. Totally loony https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/v1051808052
This doesn't show up everyday, and when it does, well: I've seen one go higher but this might be rare? Seems to be a more recent thing, as it was invented out of whole cloth supposedly to go with traditional yokai for the yokai movies.
That's a vintage one (so maybe best for other thread, though I certainly do appreciate this toy), and actually the end price is pretty good for one of these. I think someone got a very decent buy there.
Used to be (until recently even) the joke that people were spending a month’s mortgage on a plastic dolly. Now it seems they’re dropping the whole down payment on one! Or maybe monthly mortgages have just gone up THAT much?
I think it's some kind of joke. I had this guy bookmarked the other day at 8000 yen, which is a pretty standard price these days. I loled when I saw the price increase coupled with the "on sale" price. BTW sale has ended, back up to 7,500,000 yen
Ha! Perhaps the seller has targeted the nouveau riche collector who won't know that this is a $100 toy . "Instant "status symbol" (Emperor's New Clothes!)
