The colors on these are so sick!
Small, but rad update from the Splurrt Instagram today.

Blind auction for some one-offs to support the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund
I think it's super dope for @JoeMan to do this and I hope others follow suit.
Love seeing this! would love to see more artists participating in spreading the word and supporting black lives matter.
Love this Usir!
The matte finish on this Hambone has such a rad feel and texture to it. You can really see in the picture it has a certain kind of shine, and creates a special, almost cartoony type of vibe, and I really dig it. I wonder about the specifics in paint technique, and I’m curious about future releases with this application. Like, how would one look with small metallic bits mixed with this style? Is it possible with the different coats required for this?
Also, the one white eye stands out so perfectly and deserves special mention. Totally amps up the slapstick cartoon psychosis.
I missed this guy when he was released a couple months ago, but managed to snag him from a fellow collector on the instagruhm for cost. And if you couldn’t tell, I’m pleased. So pleased I found the energy to type all this about it. Sorry I don’t type more. I think I’m bad at it and can’t always find the time or way to say all the things I want to say.
It sure is a great week for SPLURRT!
(Space Diggler-X on Friday!!)
Much love everyone. Hope you’re all doing ok.
@Spaceman Yells Type away, goddamn it!!! I love reading, in detail, why collectors are into what they’re into! I have a matte finish Bam Bam painted by Joe with a Zectron Ghoul Head on top. I love the matte paints. I’m not an artist, so I can’t attest to exact methods, but I do know there’s matte paints for airbrushes, as well as matte finish clear coats!
I missed out on this Hambone, but I love the matte finish. For me, it felt cartoony(as you mentioned), but in a b - movie horror sort of way. It also has something of a dry, rotted meat look to my eyes. Perfect paints and colors for this particular deceased swine.
LOVE those Ghoul headed BamBams!! Missed grabbing one of them but I definitely remember the paint finish now that you mention it. Do those PK all red/black rub/yellow eye releases have a similar paint app?
And, TOTALLY. It looks like a pig. A dead pig. A cartoon dead pig. A cartoon dead horror pig. And it’s come for the murrduhr. The slap-sticky kind.
@Spaceman Yells The Bam Bam was a micro run of, like, three, I think? I definitely love that one, and the head works SO well with the body. I hope we see those again! And PK, as far as I know, was more or less the originator of the red/black rub with matte finish when he painted the Cinema Monster for DCon 2015!
The matte is just achieved with a matte clear coat. You could use gloss on certain spots and matte on others, or simply paint metallics on top of the matte clear to achieve a mix of matte and non-matte Metallics. It was a hard choice on this paint app because the paint looked pretty nice too before the matte. After I put it down on a few I didn’t know if it was the right choice, but now, I’m glad I did choose the matte.
@JoeMan Never too late to do a part two of Hambone in a similar paint style, but just a different finish! Don’t think anyone would oppose! It’s been awesome to see so much Splurrt on these pages and around the ol’ IG profiles!
This tremendous Creepshow Walking Cadaver just arrived!! Great paint work by Secretdemonservices. So good!
To anyone that is interested, there is a Halloween (Carved Pumpkin) Splurrt release right now up on Lulubell's website!
*edit* - I'm not sure why the IG linked photos aren't showing...? But either way, check it out if you haven't already!
Such a fun drop. I’m absolutely sold on the Baby Krono, one of the best toys to come out this year imo. Cute, creepy, perfect size...I need more...many, many more
Most definitely! Were you able to get the one that you wanted? I splurged and got the Giant C.K. My wallet needs to recover now.... oof, lol.
I got both of the Baby Kronos but my monthly toy budget was reached and breached quite some time ago so I couldn’t buy anything else. Splurrt has had some awesome releases of late
Splurrt is for the people and, as @patrickvaz coined, Joe Merrill is cooler than Jesus. Picked up the Baby Krono pair myself!
The appreciation I have for Joe’s availability and desire to get toys into many fans’ hands is immense.
Was able to get what I wanted and then some, I love the updated header cards too. Not sure if Joe has used em before but the header cards and these toys really do put me in the Halloween spirit which has been lacking this whole month.
I Also Got What I Wanted! CK!
Thanks everyone, the header was New, just a play on the standard CK header making it black and dropping pumpkins heads on the body. I feel like I had been slacking on previous Halloween’s and overall the fun Halloween releases have kind of fallen off. I used to love all the Secret Base Halloween releases, I’m glad I did a real Halloween inspired release this year. Hopefully they reach you before actual Halloween. Maybe next year I’ll do a pumpkin head for the CK, quite a few people asked me for that.
@JoeMan I definitely miss Halloween toys, man. Even though I got in super late with a lot of the Secret Base Halloween drops those were a lot of fun to chase after, and still sit well for the holiday they represent.
Even if not directly Halloween sculpted toys(pumpkins, witches, Universal monsters, cats, etc.) the Halloween colorways on existing toys is still fun to collect. But I’d be more than welcoming of both!
WIP shot of a new toy! I love seeing the process like this. I am REALLY digging everything about this so far: the different textures, the proportions...curious on the size though @JoeMan
Love this progress photo Joe dropped on us. Quite a surprise, too. Last week sometime he’d posted a story showing the early stage of the sculpt in his hand, and the torso looked about palm size. So I’d have to guess a little bigger than a Cadaver Kid, which would be really fun considering its dragon - like quality and fuzziness.
Also, Joe dropped this absolute model of a marble on us through Lulubell on Saturday. The first debut of his Mini Cadaver Twin! It’s about the size range of the Dokuro Pocket Monsters, and it’s cool as fuck all. He packed a lot of detail into such a small package, and perfectly nailed the expressions on the Twins’ faces. There’s also some great form factors he implemented into the sitting position; hands positioned atop bent knees, folded, hugging arm. Everything you know and recognize about the Twins. Only noticeable difference I could spot was no stitches in the face, but rather a pulling of the middle skin between the two faces. Reminds me of Hellraiser. This is also a two part vinyl, so the bottom is actually sculpted with the bottoms of the feet, a hand carved stamp reading “SPLURRT”, and even a couple dead butt cheeks. Shirahama Seikei’s vinyl pours are also fantastically combined to bring about a perfect Halloween vibe. I’m eager to see a painted release.
