Anybody score on this drop yesterday? Holy cow u guys. This was like the funnest toy drop ever. Here are a couple of my favorites. It was such a diverse group of offerings, with incredibly friendly prices! I was fortunate enough to walk away with my two top picks (Garbage Garth and an Uncle Steve head). Joe Merrill is for the people!!!

 

Pardon the uninformed question unrelated to current topics, but will we ever see the Broken Bones figure again? I picked up the 2017 DCon version from TAG, but haven't seen any more since.

 

@patrickvaz In partial thanks to you and another friend I was able to score the mustard yellow Cinema Monster. It’s the vinyl base that was painted on for Joe’s Decayed micro run at Death’s Vault! I have the run, and one off Tauro on that base, and now the blank to complete the trifecta. If I remember seein’ correctly, you nabbed yourself a set of the Lab Mice? Such a fun set.

Very, very cool of Joe to release some of the vault to fans. Great surprise.

 

Likely. I’m not really in control of it, but TAG, mostly at the care of UhOh Toys Is still releasing it. Lately he has had some sprinklings at Japanese events he had been attending, like this one at the spring Sufes. I think his situation with the molds at Maruyama factory is improving so hopefully we will see releases more frequently.

Stupid question but was the vinyl a blue base? Unfortunately haven’t seen one in hand so I didn’t know.

 

@Grindingmachete Not a stupid question at all! One I’m currently unsure of the answer for! The coverage is so grand and immaculate I can’t definitively say. But I’ll check when I get home and clarify!

@Grindingmachete In an interesting discovery, the base vinyl for the Gara Twins is white!

 

Woah that’s crazy!! Thanks! I wasn’t sure but knew that was different shade of blue compared to the blank blues that are going around. Anyway great pic and thanks!

 

Finished up the 135 pages of this thread (wish it was longer). What a great read. Thanks to all the people posting with either pictures or just their excitement! Thanks to everyone who stuck around to support Joe. “OG” or not you’ve created a community and page where people can come and legitimately learn all about a great artist.
On a side note can we get a “twins body” data base??

 

That’d be such a great idea. I’ve only got a handful myself, so I cant contribute to Cadaver Twins as much as I have Cinema Monster and Krono. But it would be rad to have something like that put together.

Supporting Joe’s body of work isn’t just fun, it’s also easy for me, in a no brainer sense. His artistic take with sculpts and characters breathes everything weird and gross and spooky I loved as a kid. Some of it also reminds me of time well spent and conversations with my Dad growing up, so there’s something of emotional investment outside of just collecting super cool toys. Add to the fact that Joe’s a collector himself, very personable and laid back, it’s just all around rad.

 

I always love seen what colors @JoeMan picks for his releases.

I would love to see a Twins thread. I have been slowly trying to compile a small shelf of only blank sculpts from Joe as I love the full line and variety of his work! I’ll share soon as I’m just un packing my collection from the move.

Just read this thread from start to finish. Looks like I missed out on some amazing toys so far, would love to own an uncle Steve.

Great to have so much toy history in one thread.

 

@Empty Spectacle I’ve done that a couple times with this thread myself. It’s pretty rad to see the opening reveal stages of the Cadaver Kid sculpt, into the character multiverse Joe’s created. Can’t wait to see how much more expanded this thread is with characters, toys, photos and conversation in five more years.

 

It's fantastic to see an artist find their groove. Hopefully there'll be more CKs released?
Also, great photos @xSuicide Squadx they certainly added to the viewability of the thread!
