I LOVE MY NEW LIGHTING. This Blizzard Beast is my favorite of the painted Evolved Beast Diggler. And the painted one off is a gift from @coma21 for my birthday a couple years back. <3
Joe hit us with his first DCon teaser today. Introducing a set of Splurrt/Secretoy goodness, The Static. Blue glow vinyl with purple glitter infused. Blanks, as shown, will be readily available via Lulubell, and Joe stated there'll be painted versions to come as well. Spoiler
Not slowing down now! Bringing forth the return of the Walking Cadaver this past October, Joe graced us with Technicolor. Spoiler
Tacitly this vinyl is super nice. Thicker And heavier than most vinyl nice with the perfect amount of softness.
The cat, or dog rather, is officially out of the bag. Announced today is the DCon exclusive Rot Smiler. A mashup collaborative between Splurrt and local Arizonan, and first time toy maker, Dski x One, aka @ thedevilskaiju on Instagram. The mashup itself is comprised of Joe’s iconic Cadaver Kid body, and David’s debut sofubi figure Aleister Growley’s head. Clear grey vinyl base with red sprays/splatters and gold accents. This is a pretty damn perfect marriage of artist initiative in hand! Spoiler
This collab was meant to happen.... I can only dream that a Usir head on Aleister Growley body will happen one day to pair with it.
Such a perfect creepy collab. I am honestly so excited to see it up close and painted it’s for sure one of the gems of Dcon.
David did an awesome job with the paint on these. He was a real life saver. I know there are 3 different style of eyes (each style taking about 2 hours, so you are getting a real bargain here) so I think they will be sold blind bag style. This is also a nice size run so there should be plenty to go around. And if you want one you will more than likely get one no problem.
I am absolutely jazzed with these guys. And I’m even more pumped that the run is a larger size. Im already going to be overwhelmed with this being my first Dcon and amongst some other things trying to figure out an order amongst the chaos. This will defiantly be one of the first booths I hit.
Sheeeesh, Joe does it again! These past couple releases have been a blast. A lil something for everyone! These were my favorite things from the drop. I was able to cop the Pocket Monsters (I was surprised there weren’t any at Dcon, should’ve known the master had some up his sleeve) and the Diggler, and I’m pretty happy about it. I only grabbed the Diggler Kid from Dcon, so I was ready for just a bit more Splurrt. I’m kinda jelly whoever grabbed that painted set, cuz I still need one. But either way, killer shop drop! Big ups to the mad dog Joe Merrill.
Yeah, the stuff Lulu had was just the figures they produce for me. They probably would have taken anything I asked. But they haul a lot of stuff out there. So I didn’t ask.
@JoeMan I’d have carried them shits on my back, dude. But!!! I think this was a cool drop to give some peoples that couldn’t attend DCon a shot at some greatness, too. The Bam - Bam x Ghoulhead collab is so awesome. Dokuro Pocket Monsters are always a winning duo, and having some painted and unpainted marbles opens up the variety for sure! I didn’t go to bed until literally 6:00 this morning, so I missed out on all of these, but after DCon I can’t even trip! Amazing work as always, Joe!
Ugh love this guy ... along with many of your sculpts... just missed a drop and I’m kicking myself really wanted those marble pocket monsters and cotton candy diggler cry:
Hot on the trail of the Rot Smiler collab, Joe brings us yet another baneful beast by way of a Bam Bam release. This frightful fraternization is birthed by one of the greatest team ups I’ve seen in sofubi, which is Splurrt’s Bam Bam body, topped with the Ghoulhead sculpted by the *insanely* talented and awesome artist Zectron, and produced by Unbox Industries. I sincerely hope these two continue to work together on mashups, and maybe even a joint sculpt someday, ‘cause this toy is perfect in my eyes. I’m really, really loving the header for this release, as it reminds me of artwork I’d see on an 80’s slasher flick in a movie rental store. Zectron’s head, in his true sense of interests once you get to know him, is a tri - sided homage to the Ma-Ba Zombie toys by Mattel, and they’re each executed and flowing into one another flawlessly. Joe did some awesomely interesting things with his paints goin’ into a full matte finish, with some nice rubs and scrapes into the paint. Black and white is my favorite color combination in clothing, but aesthetically with objects and toys, it’s definitely black and red. I don’t think there was an official name given to this release, so I’m self dubbing it: Hack ‘n Bash Spoiler
I love it when artists get so stoked and giddy about test pulls, they can’t help but get ‘em dirty. Hambone and Borealis Kid!!! View this post on Instagram
I love that the Cadaver Kid body has been the consistent element to this series of characters. And it’s really cool that they both have their own, individual, distinctive arms.
Couple of cool updates, and one major one!!! Firstly, Joe teased a master paint for a new Cyco Kid on yellow vinyl! Some really cool black(and possibly silver, maybe just gun metal) and orange sprays, with green accents on the stitches, maybe some hints of gold in there. View this post on Instagram Secondly, Joe’s workin’ alongside Jon Rampage to bring a new head atop the class B - Monster body of Skull Head Butt. I think this is a perfect marriage of aesthetics and style to be put together, so major kudos to Splurrt and Rampage for getting together on this. Giant brained, single horned, massive jawed, and two bony chompers ready to bite, this has been dubbed Space Diggler X. View this post on Instagram
