As far as I've seen Luke is in America now doing his thing. I've been kind of watching his lives but also been busy with personal medical problems. My heart goes out to Amy's family for sure. It's been a sad year as we've lost several prominent figures in the art and toy world. May they all be remembered for the great things they did and brought to the community.
I'm really disappointed to see what looks like new release Devil's Kaiju figures on Mandarake. I hope I'm wrong and they are used items that distastefully made their way onto the shop. The post does say that they are secondhand items. It's hard to imagine that Luke would release new versions of these.
The way he talked about the situation and him purging his DK lot leads me to believe they're definitely not new.
Oddly enough, I think some people don’t even know about what happened. There was a guy who posted a DK piece on eBay a few weeks back. I was seething, but I sent a message saying “hey, just want to let you know this is murderabilia.” Dude messaged me in a couple hours replying “Good call, taken down.” I don’t think he really knew anything before I mentioned it.
Has anyone heard any updates on David? I didn’t want to post the question in Amy’s memorial thread. So I’ll do it here.

Not good at interpreting legalese, but if I’m reading this correctly, his first trial is February 15th of this year? Also not sure if Premeditated Murder is going to stick. I didn’t get the feeling that there was any pre-planning from the articles I read. Second degree murder, aka without pre-planning, entirely possible. I would be absolutely shocked and disgusted if a plea of a lesser charge is offered, but leniency for heinous crimes unfortunately happens.
This one was a looooong lost battle. Right after I tried to post my earlier creations (while living in Japan in 2012) to Japan Toys, and was summarily moved to the American page. At least Luke never pretended to actually be a Japanese maker.
does anything make sense? Does spending a shit ton of money on plastic dollies REALLY garner conversation about anything making sense?
