I've been playing Heidelberg 1693- its an awesome metroidvania style platformer that takes place in 17th century France. It has a fun and challenging "one-shot reload" musket gimmick and an overall evil vibe to it! If you're a classic Castlevania fan I suggest you check it out! I've been playing it on Switch but its also available on Playstation for those who are interested. Gameplay:
I’ll have to check this one out. There are a few metroidvanias out for the switch on my list now. Anyone play bloodstained? I read that it’s the spiritual successor to Castlevania Symphony of the Night; which is one of the classics.
all 3 Bloodstained games are awesome! This set of Bloodstained Curse of the Moon 1 & 2 is coming out soon if you are interested in a physical copy: https://www.play-asia.com/bloodstai...O9q0RuLwyAhxQi4y9JVSYolV-C_T7A3hoCp-IQAvD_BwE
I got the weirdest feeling today, I just suddenly felt like I needed a new Bethesda game. I want to wander again. No open-world game scratches that itch like a Bethesda game does. Can’t wait for Starfield (their new space-based series) in September. Just hope that they won’t neglect the other series if this becomes their cash baby.
OK, so i have no will-power and bought Tears of the Kingdom. If you're a BOTW fan, its a no brainer. I love the new abilities and the playing area is even bigger, including all the 'sky islands' and 'the depths'. The graphics are slightly better and overall i can tell its going to be just as good as the previous game, if not better. Saying that, some people cannot handle the fact the game sold 10 million copies in 3 days. They want Nintendo to be more like Sony or Microsoft. They think all the people giving the game 10/10 scores are idiots. Some people just don't like Nintendo ... but they still want to play their games. It only took 12 hours to 'confirm' they don't like the game! The game isn't 'poor quality' or 'bland and ugly'. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but this is just bollocks!
I recently bought a modded PSVita 2K with full libraries from all systems lower than ps1 and also a bunch of ps1 games. Its been incredible to just play any old game I can think of at any time. I highly recommend it. I got it from @pspguru on IG. He only sells psps that are in perfect condition. Not a scratch on it!
I've been resisting to play more than 10 minutes of boltgun at a time, best Warhammer 40k shooter. The setting lends itself so we'll to the boomer shooter genre, absolute GOLD.
Speaking of will power, I preordered the last Star Wars thing and finished it way earlier than my busy schedule should allow. I’ll play it again in a year. Lots of fun. I am very interested in Boltgun too. Never been into Warhammer (feels more like a mistake than a choice) but I always loved the look of the 40k line (world?).
I just replayed Portal and Portal 2 for the first time in nearly 10 years. I got the Companion Collection on the Nintendo Eshop. My goodness I forgot just how great portal 2 was… it’s truly a 10/10 game. Plus it has a bunch of challenge levels I don’t think I played first time around on my ps3 all those years ago. next I’ll be finidhing “Record of lodoss war: Deedlit in wonder labyrinth”
I've always wanted to play it, my brother hyped it up to me back in the day. He loved it. I dont think theres a physical release on the Switch though. I'd prefer a cart.
There are claims that plays-Asia had a physical release, but I couldn’t find proof of it actually existing. The companion collection on switch I think is the only release of the games in the last 2 generations. I have my ps3 version, but I don’t think there’s been a version since. If goes on sale I would snatch it up. Even retail at the Eshop it’s a great deal for a GREAT game.
I love how someone who has played “3 hours” thinks he has something to say about the game. One of my buddies got it, and he’s loving it. I already used my “video game allotment” on Diablo IV though.. I think I’m going to ask to borrow BotW from my sister, get started on that at least.
Oh, if you can play it for free, test it out, that's great. Its a game that benefits from taking your time. Not rushing through the main storyline. I'm glad I played BOTW before TOTK, in many ways TOTK is much tougher, but I'm not gonna lie, I fucking love Tears of the Kingdom! The new abilities are so much fun. Which one was it in? The closest one i remember was a crane machine in Links Awakening. You could win a Yoshi doll. In the same game they had a Chain Chomp from Mario, but they renamed him BowWow, and had him outside a house like a regular dog ...
In Link Between Worlds for the 3ds 1 of the stores had a gachapon machine to buy character collectibles. They didn't do anything, just a random collectible, so the new version is much better since it's part of the gameplay. I think Mario Party has a gacha machine too, as part of their boardgames.
Oh, no way! .. thats one of the Zelda games i've not played. I never had a 3DS, same goes for game boy colour ... I always wanted to play Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons!
Anyone going to buy the System Shock remake? I’m so tempted to. Back in the late 2000’s, I read that Bioshock was made as a “spiritual successor” to System Shock. I wanted to check it out, but being a game made in 1994, I didn’t really feel compelled to try it. When I heard a remake was being made, I was so excited. Buuut I spent my game money on Diablo IV. Going to have to see how much I make at a craft fair, maybe I can buy it too.
I just started Ori and the blind forest the other day- it and its sequel were on sale on the Nintendo Eshop, so both came in at under $10. It’s fun so far, I love a good metroidvania. It’s the beginnings and I can already see it’s going to be tough. Lots of spikes and jumps. Definitely giving me hollow knight vibes (or vice versa I guess) but that’s good.
I will at some point, but for now im avoiding connecting my switch to the Internet. I don't want my TOTK to update. People have been saying their game updated even when they had auto updates turned off. The dupe glitch is a lot of fun and Nintendo are being overbearing, so until I'm done duping in TOTK, my switch is offline!
