Back when the second mook was in the planning stages, I talked with Super7 about contributing a couple of articles, and started work on them during my trips to Japan. After it was apparent to me that the issue was never going to come together, I stopped working on them. And I'm glad, because if my work was sitting in limbo for all this time, I'd be really pissed. ungawa222 has written what is probably the most articulate and concise post regarding the absence of the mook so far here. Super7 took money for a product and never delivered it, nor have they ever indicated when it will be delivered. Where is the response?
On my part, not to bring this here in this way, I've never gotten a refund and have emailed the store about it a few times. Any S7 employees wanna help there?
it's pretty sad that this thread is right here where s7 constantly posts new product, yet we never get a response just a simple acknowledgment of the situation from time to time would be much better than silence
Agreed. Even "sorry folks, it's not going to happen" would be better than being teased every twelve months or so. What's the latest, S7 peeps?
I don't have a horse in this race, just a thought. In the years since the Mook2 was proposed, the world and technology have changed. If the actual paper book is never going to see the light of day, would it not be a good idea to simply post the work done to this point online, or Email the articles, photos, lists whatever in PDF to those that paid so at least they get something? They idea of printing a paper version is becoming more and more dated each month anyway. Maybe admitting and accepting the fact that the original idea is not going to happen and making use of the work done to this point would end the debate. Or are we still going to be talking about this at year ten?
Being able to flip through a book/magazine is a completely different feeling for me, especially when it's full of photos. I'd rather have an incomplete paper version than a complete PDF version
I've tried reading magazines on my computer and I just can't get on with it, It wouldn't cut it for me
Agreed agreed Agreed. Paper good, PDF bad. Most would want an actual physical copy (as would I) thats a given, no arguement there. But if the choice is you get some information, pictures, articles, checklists etc. in a digital format or you get years of promises and nothing else, what would you rather have? If its the latter than you've already got it, good for you.
I agree, the mook has taken far too long. It has sat at 2/3rds finished for a few years now. Factors well beyond our control have precluded us from releasing it, and one day, we will. It is a bummer to us all. In the meantime, we will send out refunds to everyone who has a subscription. When the mook finally does come out, you can decide then if it is something you want to spend your money on. My hope, is that it will be. Until then, I just can't say when it will actually get released. We will start issuing refunds this week, and they should be in your hands in time for xmas (or just after depending on your postal situation).
Brian, I think a lot of us have moved since purchasing our subscription. Who should we contact to update our mailing addresses? I appreciate the candid response and resolution. Hope to see the Mook 2 see release some day in the future.
Your timing sucks . . . even if you refund immediately I don't have the time for any cool new toys to be shipped before the end of the world!
And the statement is totally wrong imho. Since I do not need to cram my shelves with the books I read no more (I get most of these digital nowadays) I find myself buying more and more picture books, graphic novels and stuff like this lately.
