It sounds very nit-picky but it's been enough to annoy me for the past week (not sure how many other people feel this way) but if there any way to exclude B/S/T threads from the mix when clicking on Active Threads/New Posts? Ideally I'd like to be able to have two categories - one for Active Threads concerning toy discussion (General Interests/Super 7/Board Announcements) and one for Active Threads concerning Buy/Sell/Trade discussion.

Just curious Glenn, why would you prefer that? It was always done together in the past, so I'm interested to hear that different take on it.

I think it's more what I'm used to - maybe I was using the old board in the wrong way but I would always click General Interests which would just give me commentary/news.. it was like my little sofubi newspaper in the morning :) it's a totally selfish request but maybe if enough people feel the same way it could be amended. Even by just making the "General Interests", "Market Place" "Nitty Gritty" titles as clickable links that would display all of the threads relevant to those categories would work out just as well.

Ah I gotcha. Well, for what it's worth, all the particular sub-forums Like General Interests topics and so forth can still be accessed via the main page, as they were on SB 1.0. But yes, it is true that the overarching category itself is not clickable to give you a breakdown of all the discussion topics under it. This might be something we can look at changing, as collecting the topics in one area shouldn't be that difficult, given the divisional setup of the board; and we could make it accessible in the manner you wished. I think access would still be through the main page though. I am just surprised you don't feel like reading the classifieds with your morning news!

Ha! Genuine audible laugh from that one, thanks!

I think the solution to your gentle peeve might be pretty simple, Glenn --- just make sure that you're signed out when you make your first skim of the day! BST? What BST?

Now if only we can a 'funnies' section, I would never need to open any other papers. Oh, the kaiju komics possibilities...

(we all know the amazing pool of talented artists are already here on the board - MS Paint included  )

Glenn, that request is something that's actually already on my list of suggestions that I'm looking into. So far I'm learning that it's not possible with how we currently have forums and sub-forums set up, but I might be able to reorganize the board to have each "category" (Nitty Gritty, General Interests, Market Place, etc.) be a forum, with each forum within those categories set up as sub-forums. The upside of this would be that I could use an add-on to then add the functionality you're looking for, but the downside would be that the main page of the forum would be harder to navigate, as each forum would show up as small links, rather than the larger forums that you see now. I'm still looking to see if there's another way to go about it though.

More simpler is butter! Down with the Thousand Lynx!

It would be nice, though, if clicking on the Forum title would just open up the whole of the threads in that department, behaving as Active Topics does. Ah well.

Haven't been following this thread closely so pardon me if it's already been addressed, but I'm missing the "Someone made a post to the topic while you needed 1 1/2 hours to type your stupid response" (or something to that effect) feature... Not that crucial, just noticed it.

The board is supposed to do that. Not sure why it wouldn't have, I just checked the options and it's set up to alert you if new messages have been posted prior to you posting yours.

It appears to work if you reply directly from the thread page, but not if you go to "More Options". Like I said, no big deal though.

This latest chain is making the purple part of my brain itch.

Why do we have to go to a separate screen to preview our posts, by the way?

Thanks for adding in the preview button James, it certainly makes things easier. I also think I would prefer it to just see the images via that route, rather then directly when typing up the post, as, if you do include and image but want to write text after or around it, it can get somewhat cumbersome. It is definitely nice to be able to see that the image works right away, but I would rather just be able to stick to text when putting the post together, personally, and than use the preview method for adjusting things like the images.

Its a little thing but is it possible to get the forum time added back... being at a different time and day makes my brain hurt unless I have a frame of reference.
    Loving the new site !

Would it be possible to add embedding capabilities for audio streaming services here, as we have for video links? It would be great to be able to stay on site to check out, say, podcast recommendations or music that our fellow 'brainers have made. Soundcloud, at least, would be a good start.

I second the motion for time reporting, as it can be helpful to coordinate posting times for people of other time zones.

Hmm, I wouldn't sat that the audio think is necessary priority though. Links are good enough for that for redirecting to appropriate sites; I don't know that everything has to be embedded directly onto SB (are people really that lazy to not just click through? my hope is no).
