    The tail is actually articulated. I thought it was strange that they used that version.

    That’s why they did it. This year was all about throwbacks. Bakos, Hedorahs, TO colorway, 1st mold Zag.

    So was it just the blank that was the OG body, or is the painted also the old sculpt?

    Wow, that is unexpected. Thanks for responding so quickly.

    It is very strange that they would use the 1st version Zag, since the last time I can recall seeing this version produced was 2007. It seems like too small of a difference for them to dig out the original mold for a 'throwback' release. The two most likely scenarios that pop into mind are (1) these are old stock from pre-2nd version Zag production (but it seems somewhat unlikely that they would sit on this for 12 years), or (2) something happened to the 2nd version mold, and they had to reuse the original mold.

    I’m not saying they were produced specifically for the bag, just that I think there inclusion was purposeful. As the bags were noted to have a “classic” feel or something to that extent.

    It also seems intentional, as the Bako has the newer body with tail attached. Though these could be older stock from the previous gid Bako release.
