If anyone is looking for something to do tonight... It's a new collaboration we're doing with Cannibal Flower. Our (DDR Projects) contribution(s) will be installation bodies of work, sound art, video, interactive installation, kinetic works and the ilk. Hoping this is going to be a continuation and an alternative to all the flat art so common these days. Maybe, but no relation to this space currently. It went great actually. We plan to be putting together another show in the coming months. Originally we had been talking of a regular every-other-month thing, but we'll have to see ultimately. Some really strong audio/visual works last night. A great ambient soundscape throughout the entire venue that created a really great overall vibe last night. A fantastic performance piece from Odeya Nini, a really cool interactive piece from Adam Florin where people were encouraged to text a single word to a phone number he purchased and if accepted, it would text the person back with a handful of words in some sort of text/sound database, thus creating a completely new soundscape based off of that single word. It was very cool and fun. Lots of strong work all around and the entire venue had this flow about it. So, for a debut event, having a single day to put together, coming off (literally) without a hitch, I'd say it was a great success. Hopefully we can start to drive more people to our next one and beyond. What we put together last night is nothing you would see anywhere else in LA on this level. I guarantee it. I did not get a response, but I didn't think I needed to hear back anyways. I showed up and they didn't even have a list or anything. They just let everyone in. And you sir are dashing enough to get into anywhere.
