for those who don't trend in the Whatever waters... Sorry Carl for doubling up. Hope you and LASK don't mind So, depending on how you look at things this is our FINAL exhibit at our current location (more details to follow). After two and a half years exhibiting in Long Beach, we're moving on and the future is bright. With that being said, here are the dirty details and I am hoping that we'll see some of you attending because I can assure you this show is going to be outstanding. Surprise performance pieces will also be happening throughout the exhibit times. We're planning on rotating out the installation works weekly as well. The ones by Sandow Birk and Elyse Pignolet are amazing! There are two. Anyway, this is not at all my normal press release type material, but I figured the list of participating artists would be enough to prique up your ears (and eyes). I really hope to see some of the board members here attend. And, as usual, free booze. Digital preview will be up soon and interest in any of the work... you know how to get in touch. Thanks everyone! DDR Projects contemporary art gallery 3403 E. Salon style Top to bottom What has me concerned are the two installation pieces from Sandow and Elyse... You've been here and know that though the ceilings are high, the width aint, so... All I can say is aside from it being a really great exhibit with amazing work, it's gonna be interesting. After this I don't think space size is gonna be an issue. We're off to do work with the LB Museum and the City of LB Way to go Maz
Echo Park is hipster central, since Silverlake up and came. SIlverlake aside: Maybe 5 yrs ago my work mates missus was in Gelsons Market on Hyperion at lunchtime and she spotted Christine Ricci on one Aisle and three over was Gwen Stefani...
well, Silverlake has always been cool. Most of my lunches in high school were across the street from that market (wasn't Gelson's at that time)....Burito King!
I'm having band practice in hipster silverlake sunday..where ya gonna be around you can pm me if you are free..I'll be with some friends in the area
yeah, most definitely. I don't know what time but we're leaving Sunday. If I'm still around I'll hit you up. I'll probably working at the new Mishka store all weekend. What's good as far as toys go around there?
hey bob, double check the date on it. they postponed the date out here from February to August aside from that, i saw Testament and Megadeth open for Priest years ago...great show!
It's what's on the Megadeath website. I did see that a bunch of shows were postponed though. I saw Megadeth in 1995. Korn opened up for them.
and its at one of our venues, right next door to work at teh Palladium - except we'll have moved offices by then. Wouldnt mind seeing Megadeth - not sure about teh rest of em tho to be honest (cue metal outrage)

Today and tomorrow, the Artwalk is going on at the Brewery, and I'm opening my studio for the first time since I've been located there. (I dropped my camera and broke it, so I'm trying to raise a little extra cash for a replacement.) The upstairs toy sanctuary is going to be off-limits to the regular slobs, but if any skullbrainers come by and say the secret word, I might take you on a tour of sofubi island. My studio is 690 Moulton, Unit B, in one of the brick building in back of the complex, across from the UPS depot. It's the only unit with bright yellow doors. Come by and buy something!!!!
came by mid-afternoon, but sadly the boat to sofubi island had apparently already set sail. great complex - must be a fun place to work.
Sorry - I got shut down by "The Man" because I didn't pay the 150 bucks registration fee! I thought my rent was my frigging registration fee, but you can't beat city hall.
i rolled out too... sucks you got shut down. thanks for the heads up though... i'd been wanting to go out there anyway... a very cool place, saw some good stuff.
You telling me that they bar you from even having "guests", someone can't just knock on your door and pay you a visit? I was thinking of dropping by tomorrow. Open House is apparently not that Open. Sorry!
