http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnGBa8dVm6k For fans of Black Sabbath, Cathedral, Witchfinder General, Pentagram, Trouble, assorted 70's hard rock bands, etc. Been spinning this record non-stop lately.
Started out the morning with Eagle Twin: I absolutely LOVE And it Came to Pass That Birds Fell Back to Earth as Black Snakes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BXVBO7_c0c Now I'm plowing through 4 Electric Wizard albums.
Been in a melancholy mood lately. Brendan Perry's "Ark" is all about being in a melancholy mood. I also just watched Von Trier's "Melancholia" which is wonderfully melancholic, if a little easier on the eyes than "Antichrist." A lot easier actually.
Been listening to the new Morbid Angel this week. They have added what I would call an industrial sound , and it works for me. Play it loud!!!!
I HIGHLY recommend this album right now. By The Hedge by Minks. Its been on repeat for a while now; truly chill stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJdsu6epHX0
Amazing. Gonna grab this album when I get out of work tonight. Truckfighters, Witchcraft and Firestone are some other awesome Swedish bands.
For those who dig Pentagram and Graveyard, check out Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfNHX5k9N-A This is my favorite album of 2011. Lo-Fi fuzzed out 70's inspired doom/desert rock. So many catchy riffs and everything you love about the 70's. This album is KILLER. "Plot of this album: One mans lust for women's blood turns into a drug orgy of torture, magick and MURDER. Critics have described the work as "Vile, hateful trash". File under B MOVIE, BETAMAX HORROR, LOW BUDGET, SEXPLOITATION, DOLLAR THEATER etc."
I've been listening, and listening, and listening to Shabazz Palaces' (Butterfly from Dig. Planets) Black Up. Sub Pop put the whole album up on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67cx9M2c51M
