Lol, the year is only 4 days young and that's the 2nd miss already...
Every release inches towards too-much-for-my-blood status. This one has a lovely color combo but that hydro skull has never been my cup of tea.
grats to those that have the coin to scrap on this
Did anyone else order these earlier last year? I opted to wait for shipping until EMS resumed but haven't heard anything from SB, has anyone heard about shipping from them?
EMS is still suspended from Japan to the US. Yamato, DHL and Japan Post sea mail are the only option. I used DHL I think for a SB order late last year and it wasn’t too pricey.
I've never understood why the micros weren't produced to full size. I can only imagine if these were the same as headlock studios toys. Sales would be outstanding. Never owned them but I've always secretly loved them.
I probably shouldn't be buying another jumbo for various reasons but I couldnt pass up having both versions of the OG astro boy.
As you can see, the tones are a bit different overall, most noticeable in the skin and boots. I'm glad they did a non guts version, which shows off the head sculpt much better.
Those Astro Boy's are great. I just think the price on them is craaaazzzy
Are the inside parts still painted?
I haven’t gotten a chance to pop a piece or open and see.
Seems there's now a smaller version of Astro Boy. First release on July 6th at Whiz Limited in Tokyo. I'd guess it's a bit taller than standard size, maybe 11-12" or so. I really dig it and am surprisingly sad this version wasn't offered publicly.
That’s more the size I can buy. Would love an eyes closed version of this one
the GID sleeping version that went up a few weeks ago was really nice
I think standard favourites like closed eyes in classic colours are almost guaranteed. I'd really like to see some wild palettes in the smaller format further down the road, since this one won't take up tons of visual real estate.
Also, the mecha guts gimmick will work better in a smaller format imo. It's a pain to mess around with removable parts on a giant heavy toy.

From a post Hiddy made on IG this morning…
Wow... looking really good! I've been lucky enough to win one each of the other big scale series figures. Fingers crossed I can add this guy to the gang somewhere down the line. Can't wait to see what colors they pump out.
Just makes me miss the days of almost weekly Secret Base fight figure drops more than ever!
Iif you look at the vinyl weight released per week/month, it is probably identical
Damn, that looks really good! I'm not a big collector of classic Kaiju stuff typically but I may have to go in for one of these at some point.
Curious to see how they will paint it. I would love a blank one.
Would love to see the classic blue with silver sprays
It's not the Secret Base I know, but it's the Secret Base I LOVE! (Though I don't expect to love the price...)
What're we guessing? 175% the cost of a giant Astro Boy? 200%?
It’s way more molding and another license. I’m guessing same price or more than Astro.
and every penny deserved, this toy looks great. Best shelf hog of a Godzilla
is that a Mecha Godzilla inner piece?
if so, wow...
Damn, Hiddy just unzipped and let flow a bursting bladder in the direction of Shig and Hirota.
