Yep! DHL from Japan is super fast. If only they were cheap enough for all stores to be using them instead of EMS!
Admittedly SB puts out a lot of lackluster stuff. But despite their current state they do manage to hit it out of the park from time to time..
this is nice, don’t get me wrong, but did it need to be made so big? I’ve seen the price, and I’ve heard about the shipping cost... both of which are strikes against it in my book. I’m glad the giant toys fad has pretty much come and gone.
Absolutely not! Its the only aspect I wish they'd reconsidered. You've gotta approach it as a one and done kind of thing when it comes to toys this size.
kamen rider bandai king size, butanohana giant spacemen, bullmark large size. Giant toys rule in my book! That being said I have no desire to own this astroboy, but that's just me. I can see the appeal.
I see the giant Secret Base Astro Boy as a great piece. That said, alot of the SB Astro Boy releases don't do anything for me except this classic one. IMO, there's lots of smaller size Astro Boys (Butanohana, Demboku, etc) to choose from.

Same here. I think that’s probably how this release will be expanded not that I’ll have that kind of cash to throw at it. Lol
@hellopike The clear head/black body got my attention almost immediately. Wondering if the foreground right is white vinyl or GID?
@xSuicide Squadx that is a good question. Looks white to me, but who knows. Are they all new color schemes separate from what’s already been released? It’s been a while since they did and Mazingers. Does anyone remember the original price? It’s probably still on secret-b but I’m feeling extra lazy right now.
@hellopike The two that were up on the site were $350 and $380. No way I’d have known this prior, since I hadn’t paid attention, but the clear head/black body has been released before, as has the one to its right! Those are the two on Secret - B marked as “sold out”.
Ahh yeah. Now I remember why I never picked one up... They are a little too expensive and just outside outside my usual collecting habits. Mazinger Z is cool, but Grendizer and Gaiking are my favorite go nagi giant robot heroes. If they did a Grendizer, I’d have to give it serious consideration.
Personally I'm not a fan of the visible bolt bumps bordering on a majority of the sculpt's outlines. Give me the smoothness of a jumbo any day (which you can get Z for the same price or cheaper anyway)!
The clear one was initialy released directly on the website and i managed to pick it up... Really a beauty !
That dude was up all day yesterday. Seems like for the past year or two, most new pushead pieces have been produced in pretty huge numbers. I like it, very collector friendly and flipper unfriendly.
I’d be way more into Pirates and Captains if they weren’t so downward staring in nature. I can’t stand the way they display. Which is a bummer because some of the production versions I’ve seen over the years are great. Even still, it’s cool to see an older sculpt come back! The marbling is super nice, too!

@nothisisluke I’ve seen some great Pirate/Captain collections from a few SB’ers here! When they’re displayed sideways, and photographed at an upward angle they do look great. The hunch is just too much for me.
