In with this first. No doubt jR has been mentioned on the board over the years; but this shows that he is dedicated. Refreshing to see he does make the kits etc.
20 year old Yutaka Ultraman candy toys. I remember these fondly, hard plastic and crisp sculpts. Look how many kaiju you got in each box!
Good old Theo - entertaining and whenever I watch one of his clips I feel like I either have it sped up or have drunk 15 shots of espresso just before pressing play
This guy repairs old toys: Restoration Lab Repair Institute Bullmark Takkong with missing tail ..satisfying..
I don't know how i feel about that. I once bought an old toy and it had a clearly remade resin tail that was undisclosed and i felt like the toy was ruined. Just let the toy be old and damaged and incomplete, it's fine the way it is. Why does it need to be new and perfect again?
Fully agree no one should be selling a modified/repaired toy w/o disclosing that. If this is a toy the guy intends to keep and he wants to use his skills to make it whole, I have no qualms; if he's making these for resale, or resells down the road, one would hope he'd give detailed disclosure of the work.
From what I can gather, he buys these toys for a few thousand yens to illustrate the techniques. I looked at the vid as if it was akin to ASMR, satisfying to see the end result after all that work.
