To anyone who may be reading this who bought, THANK YOU THANK YOU very much. All both of us here at Tokay have a buncha good stuff in the hopper, and are grateful for you being the weird wind beneath our wings.
@ungawa222 these are fantastic. Incredibly original and fun. The lathered gargoyle mask head sculpts are really something else.
WTH Which site were you hosting them on? Nice work on all the above. Ol' pink eyes is really striking.
Thanks, Sam! I had 'em on postimages.org, which went offline briefly a while back, after I had made the posts here.
This resinous fellow wandered his way into Michigan a few months back: Finally got him to hold still for long enough to pose for a portrait. He ask that you kindly go visit his brothers over at Tokay. Tokay Shempuvian
^ Great to see one in the wild, D!! We released two new editions for Halloween, peoples- please check 'em out, if you're so inclined. We're pretty damn pleased with how this run came out!
So... I asked a certain guy we all know if he would consider employing his tremendous toy photography talent to capture a pair of one-off Knuckles I painted recently. To my great delight, he agreed to take them on, and I opened my inbox last night to find these killer snaps: THANK YOU, Robert!!
Wow, some amazing more @xSuicide Squadx ! Those are two very excellent one-offs, some really great colour work, and Robert's done such a phenomenal job showcasing the incredible detail and execution in this serious shampooing squad. Thanks both for sharing here!
Anytime I see somebody touching the top of their head, all I can think of is that commercial for "Little Baby's Ice Cream".
I had told @ungawa222 i felt like these would present a challenge, and I was correct in the way, that, their scale and intricacy in paint detail was a task! But it was a lot of fun getting to move these around and try and capture the tight knit paints, especially in the suds atop the shampooed head! These are rather impressive in hand and hold some great character charm in its statuesque nature. Especially that grin! My personally favorite part was capturing the skull on the belt. I was pretty excited about Mike coming to me with these, and am elated with both how they turned out, and his excitement! Thank you for trusting my abilities, Mike!
Ya killed it dead, man!! As far as trusting your abilities, you've proven your talents about a thousand times over, by now... I was pretty sure you were the guy to bring out the best of these guys, including all those technically-challenging-to-capture tiny details, as you noted. Thank you again, Robert... smashing job. (Oh, and my Tokay-partner Mike Ridge went absolutely nuts for 'em, too... he sends his thanks!!)
Long overdue pic of this 1-off Blades created & painted by our board's über-talented (and quasi-impossible to find) @ungawa222 Thanks again Mike!
