Coloration for San Fran is Different. Its way different from the rest of Gargamel stuff but Im really diggin it. Ive been lucky enough to have one in my collection since early this week. Im totally stoked on it. The head reminds me of baltan.
Body paint is clean. I cant pinpoint what it is I like about it... in my hands its just appealing to look at. Yup s7 version.
I love this toy. Mr. Flynn explained the backstory and after seeing it, buying it and holding it. IT's awesome.
The Eaton is the head. It's a fish. The body is from another "kaiju." The pattern on the body is some vintage Japanese pattern. Brian said it's commonly associated with thieves. Kiyoka explained that there will be another head sculpt for the body. The Eaton head might even fit over that. It's a great figure in person. Lots of character to it.
The body design is etched in the vinyl....really nice figure.....it has some Japanese folklore around it.....it is about the size of a RxH figure...same size as the new Tokoji Seijin and Ojo Rojo.
The more I see of this figure, the more I like it. Can't wait to have one (or two) in hand. Let's see a photo of the S7 version... anyone?
The two on the left were customs (one with the blue head and the other with the half blue/red head) the green on the far right was the s7 version. There was also an orange head version and I thought someone said that was a proto.
I feel like the one thing that's missing for me is a coordination of the colors in the pattern on the body with the head color. every version seen thus far has a "clashing" color scheme...which makes it feel like the two main parts are mismatched...I feel like if the swirls on the body for the S7 version were green or red, this would be a lot more likeable for me at least... still, it's got some of that Garga-feel we all love...it's cool to see different designs, if no one experimented we'd have a lot less to be excited about.
But I think they are supposed to be mismatched...because of the theme of the two. They are essential two different halves.
I hope some of those surprises include standard size Tetran and Beralgon. Now THAT'S something I could get excited about.
I really like this figure now, but the price puts it out of reach for me. Since the mid sized figures are now going to $100 a pop, will that also raise prices on the standard size figures? I hope not, I don't want to pay $135- $150 for a Standard Walking Hedo. But I guess prices are going up everywhere though.
The perceived "mismatch" of the "head" is indeed intentional. This is a very cool figure. I'm sure people will post pics soon. Not sure about the price tag tho'. No standard size tetran or bergalon in the works. I would love to see those too. SDCC planning is next for Gargamel....it is gonna be hard to top last year!
i got up an hour ago....here's a pic with Tokoji Seijin Eaton is suppose to be viewed from many angles and the body is not really a body in the traditional sense. in the case, you could see Eaton blowing wind or water...if i was more awake, i'd scan the header card and it will help make sense of Eaton. BTW...Eaton is the "head" of the figure
I find something very appealing about this but it's strange. I like the body, I like the head, the two seem at odds with each other which could be the overall appeal.
The green head looks more "plastic" than the red in other photos. The body is really interesting as its translucent and you can see the design on the back. Where is Flynn with the backstory?
The orange head version will be a production piece as well as the red headed version.....I know this since I wanted to purchase them thinking they were customs but told they will be future releases - and both looked killer in person
Ah. Cool. I really like the orange head one. I know the red was on sale on the gargamel site but I think sold out.
