Humphrey’s one of the nicest folks on here so taking an issue with them is…unique.

Collect what you collect. No need to justify it OR explain why it’s better than other collections.

For the record, I do think it’s a cool toy but I slept through the drop. So would I have actually gone for it? No idea. I flip flop.

2. I'm a walking talking HxS PR man, or anything I'm into really, so that's that
3. I don't know mr humphrey from a rock in the ground. my response wasn't taking issue with him as a person. I just said his generalization was wrong based on my real life experiences. did I say anything offensive?

I’ll use this as an opportunity to just say that I don’t think it’s necessary to vilify passionate people. It does sound like Hirota is caught up in a whirlwind of fame and success that is seemingly deserved, given his drive and talent. With that has brought a rabid fan base, some that are truly excited about the work and some that see him as a means to their own gains, whether that’s clout or money. That’s kind of sad, and I’m going to wager that he’s not the evil mastermind that this site seems to really want him to be. He doesn’t seem to fully grasp what he’s created; there’s some kind of hiccup with every go around and it seems like he’s always having to apologize and vow to do better.

Again… don’t hate the player, hate the game. Hirota’s game’s gotten too competitive, it’s not really fun for most collectors anymore. So, put the ball down and go play another game. Some people still like it, they’re going to keep playing.

I wanted to respond with a nuanced and brief answer......Here's a story instead.

My neighbor across the street is a retired shop teacher/contractor and he will introduce himself as such. Whenever there is a contractor on the street, he has to walk over and talk to them. My uncle is a retired plumber that came over once to help on some stuff and here comes the neighbor. He just bulldozes into the conversation and takes it over with his two-cents. My street is a nice dead-end where people only leave if they have too many kids for their house or they die. No joke. My neighbor is relatively new to the street then but acts like it's his little kingdom. Why?

I feel that's the case here too. It's an open forum where we're all throwing our thoughts into the void. Does every single one need acknowledgement or a response? Probably not. (Although the naked cake sub-plot needs some clarification as to the food aspect. Do you still eat the cake after?)

HxS is a top tier artist which also means top dollar at retail and aftermarket. So there is that monetary aspect behind the comments even if it's not intended.
"I love the quality."
"It's what I only collect."
etc. etc.
Those simple positive thoughts are going to be cast into a different light then. Comparisons will be drawn in anyone's head when reading. It can be interpreted as condescendion.

So roll all that up into one conclusion, it leaves a bad taste when every item must be responded to on such a touchy topic. Quoted text after quoted text is not fun to see.

TLDR: Ease on the gas. That's all. Go share a photo.
