Thanks all! The red tongue definitely takes it to the next level. The polka dot 2012 glow lucky has the pink tongue too. Also a winner. I wonder why the tongue has only been painted twice across all the releases. So much more fun to be with paint had if it were more popular. The surface has barely been scraped.
So Dang Gorgeous all together. I friend had harassed me to trade my thrashout Hedo, and I let him go. I got a cool smashface i hadn't seen before, but now i really miss that thrashout Hedo. Such an amazing sculpt.
Figured I'd dust off the ol' Gargamel Appreciation thread in preparation for all the new additions we should see posted here soon. Here's a cruddy pic of my purposely chosen Thrash Out collection in bags to avoid dust while I await a display case coming in a couple of weeks: I love how these guys look together and I'm now on the hunt for the new TO crawling Hedoran to round out my Hedo bros and finish off my TO collection. I'm envisioning him sitting front and center.
I picked up the Mini Zagoran on the left from Mandarake recently. It matches the crouching Zag and Deathra painted in the Bullmark Gomess colors, although it is on the Rakugaki Blue vinyl. (The 55 Blue mini is just for comparison.) Mandarake did not list it as a custom, but I don't think it is by Gargamel. All of the details are painted without masking. The eye also has a tiny light reflection dot, which is not something that I have seen done by Gargamel (or any of the individuals or artists that have had customs at their shows). That said, the color placement is similar to other Mini Zags and the painting was obviously done by someone with a fair amount of skill. Anyone happen to know who might have painted this?
I was watching that one. The teeth look masked/or super clean in my opinion. There was one light reflection eye dot zagoran fullsize that was the chanman full sized.
that Chanman Zag is on my shortlist of zags I really should track down. I remember when that came out, and I think I opted for the blank version…. I was young and dumb then. Lol
I can't see any masking line on the teeth, so I believe they were just brush-painted with a very steady hand. Good memory on the Chanmen Zag... forgot they did they eye different on that one.
I grabbed both at the same time from S7! They were my first (and second) zags. I remember feeling like it was alot of money cause I just started buying larger toys haha. The unpainted is still the best zag there is to me.
Just got these in from the GamJam show. I don't think I'd seen the robot head on the right before. There's some still available at goopygravy.com. Back of Robot head:
Very happy to complete what I was going for with TO standards. May do some reorganizing of the shelf, but for now it looks good this way. Love seeing these guys together!
