Nue sure is a cutie! Still not crazy about the yellow, but I do appreciate the paint scheme a little more seeing your photo. The nose color is such a nice little "pop" in the center of his face, very attention-grabbing.
Nice one Chris. Tiny indeed, and I think that makes the execution of it even more well done. And here I thought you had given up on the AA chasing.
Great pic indeed. The right angle for that aggressive grim, the reflection and the black background makes for a real celestial impression.
Posted this a couple days ago on instagram. Thanks to a fellow board member I am now really close to being complete on all the original Anraku sculpts!
Nice pickup Ben! It's hard to beat the OG minis in terms of deliciously crude character and tasteful paint apps. And they aren't getting any easier to find as time goes on, that is for sure.
This thread could use an update! Sorry for the crap pics but I'm in a new setting with poor lighting and I desperately need a new camera. My collection is in storage (but here with me not in some random storage facility) but I'm allowing myself a reminder to get my shit in order so I can set up again! Thank you so much Emanuel @ TAG for throwing in the extra set of heads! I've got a clear Goga and Nue from Medicom on the way to add to this lot:
The tiny Anraku, some people (not recent posts) may complain about the size, but like Gargamel's micros, I just love the tiny sculpts (more with Anraku than Gargamel actually). Especially for scale and comparison to larger figures. Say for example, a Gargamel micro next to a Mini Glutamine next to a standard figure (3 story) next to a skyscraper like a Machinder or giant US Toys Eleking fighting a giant Biskup painted Mechagodzilla. At the feet of such giants are these tiny gems.
Looking good Chris! I must admit the minis are my fav. I had no idea the little Glutamine is so TINY! Glad to hear your toys are indoors with you. It's because of you, that I'm finally un-bubble wrapping the toys that are stored (most are wrapped in paper towels), and you're right, there is a stickiness that builds up--so far it all washes off!
Yeah I wasn't going to take any chances with paint peels from bubble wrap. I can't believe how massive Mamaregons are! Huge toy I've always secretly wanted, defintely worth the money.
Last pics: Thanks so much Eric @ Cubensis for the at cost deal as I missed the pre order (debated too hard-regretted it) and thanks again Emanuel @ Iron Paw for the help. Goga is so much smaller than I thought he'd be. Doesn't make him any less incredible but I always thought Gogas were so much bigger!
Beautiful pics and toys Chris! You are a speedy unpacker! Haven't unbagged my Goga yet, but your clear one is a stunner, the insides really give it another gee-whiz factor! Nice Mama too, she's really shiny! Orange looks nicer than the red IMHO. Awk! Now I really must track down a full sized Dako, really sorry about passing on that one! The lighting and colors of the background really emphasize the color of the toys! That grouping is just so nice! Hope you are settling in and feeling better!
Yeah that Mama is insane! so massive and the colors really work on it. Sort of a reddish orange on the yellow vinyl. Actually I think it is red paint but because it's on top of yellow vinyl it gives it this otherwordly color. Definitely not the traditional dark red you normally see. I want to add the yellow Drunk Boy to this lot and then I can say I've nabbed all the Medicom x Anraku releases (so far) that have come out. This lot represents IMO the cream of the releases so far.
Too purdy not to take more pics of!: This guy totally lends himself to the light source behind object shot.
Wow! Really vivid colors, and a great photo! The circulatory system really pops out. Now you just need to amass a small army of a half dozen . I can easily imagine a whole herd roaming in the wilds, from your photo Kaiju looks even better in herds! p.s. I think you should make a calender for us Chris!
I still have yet to find a toy with better texture than a Goga. I don't think one exists. Full sunlight pics of the clear really highlight the texture nicely.
