Man, doesn’t even seem like they tried. Looks like two characters from the same yanki anime.

 

This is the sofubi equivalent of old Remco Masters of the Universe knock offs.

So close that your mom wouldn’t know the difference and get it for your birthday, but your friends in the playground would know right away it’s not the real deal and make fun of you for it.

 

This might genuinely be the most confusing toy I have ever seen.

Why make a toy just to have its hands doing that?

Half of what is produced these days would fit right at home on the clearance rack at Hot Topic or Spencer's.

That’s exactly what these new toys are, boring. We’ve seen this before. The shock factor is gone at this point, and all that’s left is just “ugh, here we go again.”

Imagining that someone sculpted this for hours, eventually looked upon his/her creation with content & thought "NAILED IT!!" cracks me up very much.

 

Who made that? Is that the giant amoeba from " Angry Red Planet" ? If so, it's not so bad.

 

Doh! I knew someone would recognize it and 'ruin the fun' Made by Charlie Grant from Canada, an FX-makeup and props guy. Also it's not sofubi but rubber. Still don't get why anyone would want to recreate this pudding of a monster. You would have to display it as a table centerpiece. Would just look stupid on a shelf or in hand. IMO.

Yeah, I always thought it would look good more vintage stylized in vinyl with more height like say, M-1 style, with an articulated rorating eye.
