Here's my bit of "independent thought"... I am beyond glad any time someone points out a blatant flipper. Why? Because I want to make sure I never sell anything to them, that's why. I rarely sell things, but when I have, it has always been at fair prices so people can get what they want. I love the community aspect of these toys, I believe in toy karma (as silly as that may be), and I truly am happy when I know that someone really wanted the toy I sold them. By knowing who the flippers are and not selling to them, I can do what little I can to break the chain of flippage and make sure the toy I'm selling will more likely go into the hands of someone who really loves it. Am I stupid for being so sentimental about chunks of plastic? Maybe, but I get a lot of happiness from these toys. I'm sure most people here do too. There is a lot of love put into these toys, and a lot of hard work. I have a deep appreciation for both the toy and the artist, and that's why the flipping rubs me the wrong way. So thank you to the people who do name names, because you help me direct toys to the people who I think deserve them most.
I'm just saying you've got to stop saying that everyone who ever resells anything anywhere is scum because its not true & your actually getting people to believe it & fight for it without taking things into account which can be an endless list of different reasons. Plenty go straight in for the attack right here no questions asked but you should let other people think for themselves rather than making them too scared to disagree. I don't really deal with your forum but your bringing the outside world into it and it doesn't work like that in reality which I think is relevant to the question. I would never have managed to get some amazing things from people shamed on here years ago who weren't even making any profit on some of the things I've bought from them that I was oblivious of. They've disappeared for a start as well as others don't bother selling anymore who aren't even getting their items from your forum or any of the obvious places. Come to think of it I would never even managed to start collecting without flipping other stuff because I was only child when I started collecting other things so I had zero income yet I would pay then what things still cost now or more. If you want to show how much you want something why dont you all just do Trampt together & show how many people would actually buy something if they made some more if you cant find it. If you get it from a proxy buyer its not like they do it for free either & everything you see in 2nd hand shops is being re-sold at a profit anyway like you say.
Yeah but no offence, its not as good as that for everyone on here because they have some damn rare things & good things that no one will give 10 bucks for while others come back month after month with the same thing at a reasonable price getting more & more frustrated that no one actually supports them where as if it wasn't for your rules you could take a risk on everything & just flip it if you got bored rather than everyone having to mull over purchases in such an excruciatingly careful manner. Not everyone's like that & they don't necessarily intend to upset you but everyone's gotta do their thing. The spice must flow.
Oh wow man that's really deep I mean it's all about your thing, my thing everyone's thing what thing are we talking about yeah anyway right on brother flip that toy shoot the dice the spice extends life the spice expands consciousness I missed those 5 years of primary schooling that stressed punctuation
I want whatever spice the two of you are on. Seriously though, who comes back to a thread after 20 days to spew complete word vomit? Sofubi is a weird little niche of toy collecting where people mix community with sales. If that bothers you, get a new hobby. Don't need to write a whole essay (sans punctuation, so an essay that would be thrown out by a teacher) about your life story of flipping.
People who spend their time searching & finding what their looking for rather than waiting for service that's not gonna come & making up scape goats to blame it on.
So these guys your talking about didn't even buy it from skullbrain & your still telling them what they can & cant do. What a load of old communist gang rape this forum really is.
If that isn't enough for the Admins/Mods to remove another festering boil off the ass of Skullbrain I don't know what is.
To be fair... some that try and be the poster boy to call out flippers now, were the ones who constantly were flipping back in the day. It all comes full circle?
Haven't you ever heard of goldilocks pricing? You'd all part with your collections on flickr & instagram etc. if you were offered enough so don't play so dumb when you get offended about "crazy" price tags that only an adult could afford. If your so scared you better hide your galleries from now on so you don't get mistaken for "flippers" or attract eager kids that think its worth nothing. The only goldilocks you lot seem to be familiar with is the one you just read at school today with sleepy children.
If you had actually read this thread with any real comprehension abilities, you would have realized that a good number of us had no problem with the people in said booth or their pricing, especially for stuff that has been out for 10 years.... ...and the folks that do all have valid points as well. There's room for all kinds of opinions in this world. But obviously you are lacking some pretty basic intelligence. So continue to prattle on about nothing. Stupas is as stupas does, my mama always said.
i've been offered just shy of 20 grand for 3 monkeys that cost me just under a grand total. I still told them no and get to stepping?
Please don't feed the troll! It's clear that he lost his way back to the underpass. The fella was warned by another staff member, for what that's worth. Now you know.
Remember those little Tokyoplastic Geishas? I think they retailed for $30-$40 each. One time I had a collector offer me $1200 for the only 3 that I had. I wish I took them up on that now that I think about it.. lol
