Unfortunately I have to disagree here Weakest sculpt i have seen so far from Yamomark. Maybe need to see it painted, and maybe not solid color vinyl, but CLEAR instead... but too bulky, no real face,.... just to be honest here
This is really interesting. That plain one is very natural. I can really understand why some people love the unpainted releases, that first prototype seems to show off the textures far beyond the painted versions of this sculpt.
That reminds me that Winu posted a teaser pic in the Blobpus thread of a head sculpt that has some similarities with this one . . . maybe we are getting two different takes on the same idea?
Interesting and doubtlessly very well-made sculpt, but since it's a pretty radical departure from the usual, rather goofy Yamomark style (which I love) I'm not sure whether I dig Gorugonzoora... And why the hell does it have Kermit eyes?
https://www.google.com/search?q=oct...KI6AGRhejhDg&ved=0CEwQ_AUoAQ&biw=1157&bih=480 Awesome sculpt, and I can't see wait to see what that Blobpus teaser is of, too- both very Cthonic!
I don't often wander into this thread, as I don't need more toys to covet, but I'm digging the new cuttlefish guy!
The pink one is so good! Love the colors. I can imagine a bio-luminescent version of this guy. Hahaha -- I thought that when I read it out loud. What a great kaiju name.
Oh, I see - might work better if the eyes were painted without the bulge in the middle of the pupil, though. I still see Kermituronzoora...
I didn't realize it had eyes until I saw the painted figures. Also, the painted ones seem to lose the details of the suckers on the inside portions of the facial tentacles and arms too. A different color to accent these would have been nice. Still enjoy the sculpt overall.
The pink is just killer! I too did not notice the eyes until pics of the painted test shots surfaced. This monster is just perfect IMO. Ready to emerge from the sea and level a town.
I wasn't so sure about Gorugonzoora from the plain sculpt image 1st posted, but I Completely changed my mind after seeing him painted up. I foresee some amazing colorways, customs, & collabs to come via Gorugonzoora! I know my 1st judgement was made by my taste of the sculpt alone in this case (which many love!), but reminds me of why there are always various colorways. You hear it on a pretty regular basis from some that it's just a way to get more of the same figure out there, and although it makes sense looking at it like that from a business perspective, I really believe that there's more to it than that, with the fan's getting the greater benefit. Not that this' anything new, but by example - Just in reading the comments since Gorugonzoora's 1st appearance here, it's so obvious that we all have dissimilar tastes. I know I'm speaking from my own opinion here, but for the majority of painted pieces, I can't think of many that I like no matter the colorway/version released. So I'm sooo happy that there are so many Boss Carrion versions, for example, cause I can think of a few versions, that if they were only that, I wouldn't be interested at all. Of course there are many of you that like the figures no matter the colorway, & some who prefer the blanks alone, etc, but for those like me, it's important for there to be various versions to choose from... Ha, anyway, that's a really long way to comment on my 1st paragraph that it just goes to show how important a colorway & different versions can be, making the difference between liking / disliking a piece... Speaking of - Here are some new Yamomark Colorways: Mushroom Soup Man (Hyper Hobby Exclusive) I really like this Watermelon version! [images pulled from Yamomark's blog & the Kaijulab blog]
That first MSM is awesome, glad these guys are making another appearance. Pretty much the only sofubi I'm "complete" in. Not really feeling that bottom red one though, kinda looks like the other red one that was released sans green.
