Right now a combination of Rune Factory 4 Special on the Switch and I just fixed my 360 so I'm also playing Kingdom Under Fire Circle of Ruin in it
Mail day. I had plenty of games on the Game Boy Advance, but i never had any Castlevania. I don't remember even seeing them for sale. Anyway, the three GBA versions are on this cart and they were ported by M2, which is always good news. I'm looking forward to playing these!
I've been playing through Breath of the Wild on the switch. My first Zelda game and the only other game I've used my switch for besides Super Smash Bros. Trying to conquer the Divine Beasts currently, down to the last of the 4. Great game so far
I really loved BOTW, and then TOTK came along and improved on it. I honestly think TOTK is the best game I've ever played.
It's addicting! I spent the first 2 weeks playing not even working on the main story, but having a blast just exploring, visiting shrines, discovering koroks, and generally boosting Link's skills and abilities. It's a beautiful game, really. Shadow of the Colossus vibes
Yeah, it's a slow burn. You gotta take your time with these games, not rush to 'beat' them. I'm 280+ hours into TOTK and I've plenty of side quests I can still do before finishing the main storyline. Adding the ability to use Zonai technology for building things, was a great idea. Half the fun is doing many tasks your own way. There's a kinda freedom.
I finally "finished" TOTK a bit ago. Everything except all koroks, all armor upgrades, and every single map location. 100%'d BOTW, and didn't feel like doing it all again.
Finally have some time to continue playing God of War Ragnarok, still not sure if its better than the one before but so far so good.
I just got Sniper Elite V2 Remastered for the Switch, it's supposed to run pretty smooth handheld, and it was a nice price. I've been playing a lot of Castlevania Circle of the Moon. One thing I haven't tried on these retro collections before is the rewind function, and it's turned out to be pretty sweet. A good way of learning enemy behavior and timing, without having to repeat levels. The instant save states are a big plus also, just save whenever you want.
I just started Elden Ring last weekend. Wow, what a game! When it was released I didn't want to play it until I was familiar with a few of the other souls games. Fast forward to now after beating Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1-3, Elden Ring feels the most beginner friendly. Nice change of pace!
Im about an hour in and love it so far. The art direction and overall visual aesthetics are incredible, some of the best ive seen this gen. Also listening to the audio book of Journey to the West as im pretty ignorant of chinse mythology.
Nice J, glad you're enjoying it so far! The graphics are truly next level, and the transition from cut scenes to gameplay is probably the most seamless I've ever seen. I haven't pulled the trigger on it yet, just been watching gameplay videos so far, but gah it looks so good. I spent a good part of my childhood growing up in Taiwan and I'm sure I was required to read the book or was at least taught the story in school, though I don't remember any of it. Might have to brush up on it too before getting the game, I hear it actually depicts most of the characters pretty accurately.
Recent physicals ... Xeno Crisis is the best of the bunch in this collection. Its a fast and frantic twin-stick shooter, similar to the classic 'Smash TV' .... challenging but i'm enjoying it. Dusty old games, for a dusty old gamer This one features four games: Granada (Sega Genesis/Mega Drive), Gaiares (Sega Genesis/Mega Drive), Avenger (PC Engine) and Psychic Storm (PC Engine).
Still trying to complete ascension 20 for all characters in Slay the Spire and running through Fatal Frame for the first time (technically the second because I rented it as a kid and didn't get past the first part with Miku's brother. Was too scared to play it )
