Look how long my hair is! WHAT A HIPPIE! I tell you It takes a good while to find a good barber in this city.
ok.. finally went to Ike's Place today. wow, that's a long wait. I will admit it's definitely a good sandwich. I had the BLT with Turkey on french bread. yummy, gooey madness. Although the 30 min wait is waaay too long. and it was a bit smaller than I expected. still, highly recommended. plus I saw Drano there so that was a bonus!
congrats but honestly, forget getting a "regular" sandwich. Dont think of terms of a deli when you go there. Get a "were just friends" or a "napolean dynamite complex" next time you go. I feel like you were robbed by getting a BLT.
ive only ever gotten the 'not so sloppy ike' because it was so good i cant quite stray just yet. its fake meatballs with barbeque sauce, magic, lettuce, onions and carrots, i think. there was a sandwhich called the 'king koopa' that was mozzarella sticks, marinara sauce, and maybe like jalepenos or something? it sounded pretty intense, in a good way, but i didnt go there. next time. the trick is to go 30-45 minutes before you will be hungry, so when it comes you are primed for sandwich awesome!
http://www.ilikeikesplace.com/meats.html 52, 99 and 111. Going home for thanksgiving is a good one too. Or stick with the "unoriginal" sandwiches. Your choice! and ALWAYS get the dirty sauce.
I recently argued my friend into the thought of "Well 'King Koopa' is a title, Bowser is the name! Neither are wrong though. Like 'American President' would not be a wrong thing to call Obama, though it's not his name he IS the president of the Americans. Likewise Bowser is the King of the Koopas." That was the end of that chapter.
wow thanks for the link I know where I'm eating next time I'm in the bay area bread baked once your order your samich has to be great
