I recently saw Big Daddy Meatstraw, a local band from Portland's early 90s music scene, play for the last time ever at a long-standing club that's about to be demolished. What a throwback to when Portland really had a fun music scene! It's probably been 15 years since they last played, but they managed to put on a great show that really felt like what it was like to see a show in the early 90s. I gotta say, it was the most bizarre crowd I've ever seen at a show...every spectrum of Portland was there and it was a riot. I don't know if it'll translate to people who didn't hear them when they originally played shows, but they've got a handful of songs on myspace and if anyone finds it to be fun let me know and I can burn you a CD:
