Not upcoming, but I've never seen these before:
Skullmerry on fighter body?
Sharkman with ink-splatter head and possible red crystal eyes.
Looks like the 2006 Halloween Skullman with a mostly unpainted head.
@living dead ???
@akum6n I was just as perplexed seeing these. Especially the Skull Merry and Grapple Shark. The Skull Merry looks like it could’ve been just a collector’s mashup, but those splatters on the Grapple Shark are very reminiscent of the blue glow DBM fighters with black splatter, and even the Cure Toy Hedorah.
I would think so too re: the Skullmerry, but I can't remember any fighter with a matching body. The head is also definitely an ivory color, where most of the production release heads were bright white.
A fighter Skullmerry would be a great official release though...
I think they are just factory left over mash ups much like the stuff that was done for TAG when Hiddy went there. Pieces and parts from previous releases that were modified and mashed together in a new way. That fighter body is very reminiscent of the point card releases but that ivory head does not seem familiar at all. Same with the shark...wouldn't be surprised if the head was GID. I'm not a skullman guy so don't really know about that one.
That Sharkman is sweet looking. I agree with Toby, these were probably random bits from old releases mashed together, and then giving (with the sharkman at least) a bit of splatter and gems to make them a little more enticing. I hope whoever got them enjoys them, it wasn’t me.
Let’s not forget Sufes was today, and with it two new Skullwings! Thankfully Funnyara and Pushead are keeping the Secretbase Fighter flame alive!
I count 3 unless the orange-black with copper flake marbled dude was an 'unofficial' F&F gift item.
That one was available at the last hyperstoic show in October, so it must have been some leftovers today I guess? Either way it’s a nice one, not enough orange Skullwings out there, frankly.
Shows how 'out-of-the-loop' I am!
I also remembered all the chrome figures were plated over a vinyl color that is very close to (if not the same) as that ivory so maybe there were early plans to do a chrome merry release with all the others but it just never happened...???
Not upcoming, but taking about the chrome plated Secret Base - A prime example of why you shouldn't keep this stuff bagged up . . .
Moisture's gotten under the plating or the vinyl's leached and eroded through it . . . and this grail's now fuckin' worthless (not worth $30, let alone the $300 dude is chasing).
Taken out of the bag and it could've been a different story . . .
That second picture is awesome!
Wish I won an award like that...or any award...but y'know what I mean.
That gold chrome skullbrain is amazing!
I don't think any of my chrome figures have escaped without some cracking, bagged or open.
That brain is really nice, but I’m with @akum6n i thought all the chromed figures suffered deterioration, so I just disregarded them all together.
Yeah it's unfortunate. The chrome vacuum plating separates from the vinyl...I think mostly due to degassing as it starts to bubble.
Think I saw similar deterioration with the plated Blobpus releases, a decade or so ago
Anyone have any clear idea when these were released? I knew there was a red and a blue version, but the black, green, and sand version are new to me.
Oh of all the times to be broke. I've wanted one of those Mobstyles dudes forever. And the black/sand ones are sooooo good.
Their Instagram indicates that sales started in July 2019.
However, I also found this news post suggesting that a (different?) green version was available back in August 2017: http://news.mobby-mob.com/?eid=1426206
i avoided these forever but i think i might need one now in green or sand. please jump in if i'm wrong (anyone) but i think all the previous versions didn't have the tampo.
Or you can let fate decide what colors you get... http://www.mobstyles.tokyo/view/item/000000000061
The red and blue had the Mobstyles logo.
