Fucking East Coast......fucking West Coast....I live in the god damned south, I get no toy love Just fried pork, which is alright, but not toys. I was gonna try to make it out to this but no can do. I don't think Danzig is signing at any of these. He's playing the same weekend, but that's a whole dif. deal. Also as far as I know Danzig could care less about Jerry and the Misfits, it's Jerry who bitches and moans about him. But that's from what I've read and observed. That pic of him cleaning his car is sweet, is he using angels tears? Baby blood?
I dont he really cares about playing with jerry. When i saw one of hese danzig/doyle sets ,he basically played an entire misfits set. jerrys is basically just like harley flannigan. haha oh the photo... ziggy...
even with Danzig its a No-go. Would you pay good money to see the Scorpions or Whitesnake? They're tired old dudes going through the motions... fuck that. Nothing worse that watching a 60 year old punk trying to scissor kick and pretend that they're an elderly menace...
Yeah,I see your point. I didn't see MDC or Subhumans on their tours either just because I wasn't excited them too. I'll fly to Texas(or anywhere)again to see Gordon Solie Mohterfuckers though!!! If anyone cares these are tyhe current bands that still tickle my fancy; *MOTO(masters of the obvious) *Fucked Up *Career Suicide *Crime Desire *Gauze *Rocky and the Sweden *Double Negative *Direct Control *Limp Wrist *The Kids *Netjajev SS
The great man himself Hiddy and Balzac are coming to TT on 10/29; this is going to completely kick ass. Don't want to derail the Danzig thread or anything but I heard that Hiddy is coming to the East coast with surprise toys. I'll likely be in lazy mode and forget to go to NYC but its still going to rock!
Hiddy is reportedly bringing a buttload of stuff... however, a lot of it is not for sale too. But, it is something special for those of you who cannot actually go to Japan and check out his shop. Maybe some rare toy photo ops! I can't figure out why there were no Balzac toys shown on the promo image... kind of a huge let-down.
When I lived in Los Angeles, I drove by Danzig's house many times as it was on the road to a friend's. Oh, the stories...
I have yet to see the Subhumans play a bad set. The energy & passion that Dick has and the way they tear it up is shocking. Definitely worth seeing if they are local. Misfits w/o Danzig, I'd not cross the road to see. Gorilla Biscuits I'd cross the ocean to see. Hiddy & Balzac at Toy Tokyo with toys... I just wanna see... even with crappy hand drips
i'm gonna catch serious hell for saying this but the video i saw on youtube of some of the reunion shows kindda sucked. i know the energy in the room carried that tour but if you listened to the songs sonicly civ's voice lost all the magic it had in my opinion. maybe it's just me...i dunno?
it's just you. the shows i saw out here were fucking amazing. seriously the best shows i've been to in YEARS. stagedives make me feel more alive
i get it and that's why i said the energy in the room carried the tour but in the odd seconds that civ actually sang instead of one of the attendees...it just wasn't the same. too monotone with no screaches and voice cracks that made it so rad in the first place. i know i'm gonna lose this battle so i will just back away...maybe i'm bitter because i didn't go to any of the shows. exhibit a: http://youtube.com/watch?v=VD95B1WqyaA
Sorry Im west coaster, did they have hardcore in nyc? I knew it got as far as DC... never heard of these bands... are they new groups? JK... *West Coast HxC Es Numero Uno tho *until 1985 that is
I just found out the reason for the total crap promo image for this event. Apparently one of the staff at TT thought it was ready to go and leaked the event. This all caught me (as well as Balzac and Misfits Records) by surprise... hopefully they will rectify the situation and get some proper promo done.
I saw Jerry's Misfits on their first tour (can't remember exact year). I went fully expecting a cover band and that is exactly what I got. It was entertaining. I was hoping to see Danzig and Doyle's Misfits set, as they were scheduled to play a show in NOLA. But Hurricane Katrina ruined that...
That sucks, it was pretty good. My big complaint was that for 30 min (as it was advertised 30 min. of Misfits) Danzig should have slammed in WAY more songs but instead he went on and talked a lot about "the good ol days." It got a little silly, to the point where he'd say stuff like "this song...is about..SKULLS" like.......NO DUH! Or "This is another one about killing." But still really fun and (the Chicago show at least) was one of his best.
