I definitely haven’t been checking/window shopping everyday. So that’s a plus. Still looking for that yellow Ggml Microman and any Exohead manmachine figures I’m missing, but it hasn’t been bad this year.
I am not doing well with my resolutions. Big purchases have been made, and I did not win this ridiculous auction or find another Megalon yet. For those that did not watch the auction end in real-time, it was bid up to a preposterous 8MM yen in increments of 500k yen at a time. Most of us thought it was a bad joke after it went above 2MM yen. The seller eventually did as well, and finally canceled the two high bidders at 8MM. Now there is a story about an actual buyer out there who is upset that their supposedly legitimate bid at 8MM yen was canceled. The question is who was the other bidder if not a shill? The vintage sofubi hobby is experiencing some strange events lately…
I had came up with this idea towards the end of last year to make little cities that are about 1/150 N scale on the bottom of my 3 cabinets. about 18 feet long in total. I want to go from the ocean to the industrial area that has battle damage, and it transfers over to battle damaged city, and after that city that has yet succumbed to destruction. it involves various buildings, parks, roads, vehicles, people, train etc... but its such a lengthy process I have not committed to anything past working on assembling the buildings... layout and execution is still on my mind, but obviously not as heavily as I hoped given we are 8-9 months later... baby steps
what materials are you planning on using? What size/standard of figure are you planning on incorporating? Sounds like a really fun idea!
my big boys sit on the bottom shelves... so it would be like the front line to them displayed in the back. i even got some background wallpaper grade school teachers use that is all clouds, to use as the background. many ideas... just have to stop being lazy and start executing
I've been successfully selling some older Transformers on ebay to make space and cash. Could go faster but not at a horrible pace either. The trick I found is to not do all the listings at one time...I mean the work at listing them....save drafts and peck at it a little. I do actually list them at the same time though - easier for multiple-win buyers.
I’d start a lazy club but I don’t feel like it right now. I’ve got a bunch of worthwhile toy/art related projects going on around me but my undiagnosed ADHD makes it so much more appealing to never finish anything and just bounce around between pleasure and discipline. (Insert Shia Labeouf)
I’m hoping to get inspired/motivated enough again to step outside and make the ideas for toy photos in my head a reality. I still have my traditional stylized photos from DCon that I haven’t even uploaded or posted here, and it’s been so defeating and bordering on being offensive to artists not showcasing their works and toys I own. But I am curating my first toy show on my own, in the spirit of Amy, in the city Lulubell Toys originated. And that’s been extremely exciting, while equally nerve racking. Artists have been incredibly communicative and awesome with contribution, so I’m really pushing to want to make this happen how I’m envisioning.
We may not get along the greatest but I love your photography, we're blessed to get more of it. You have great ideas. and I don't even remember what made you not like me, but if there's a link to your work, I'd promo it. Do a book pronto.

Eh. Just a goofy tiff that happens on this board every once in a while. Nothing to cause an actual disliking I’d say. I appreciate the kind words and encouragement! As it stands my IG and this board are all I’ve contributed images to, but both have been rather dry wells for some time. Rest assured, a book would be the goal, and still is. This place will know about it first before anyone else! TOY GOALS!!!
