Ohhhh, very nice pick up Rei. I love the gut design with the contrast of the outer paint.

^ Agreed. Great grab, @rattanicus, with your ever expanding excellent toy collection :D

This is one of those "why did I ever sell it?!" toys for me. Though at the time, I don't think I appreciated it as much as I would now.

Nice! Yeah those Bero Beros don't seem to show up much these days, huh? I'm still looking for the pair...

Yeah, I remember having the flesh one before...I actually liked that one more a lot of times--but I still love this release.

This little guy also arrived with the Astro Mu. Nota made by Denboku from DORORO.
DORORO is a fantastic Tezuka anime series made in 1969 and has recently been released for the first time on DVD with English subtitles.

That is a really nice little guy. I can't think of too many other toys with little removable bases like this outside of M1. Denboku has really done excellent work on these classic manga/anime characters. If I had the funds for it, I could easily see myself filling shelves of just them. Time for @organic_addict to post an updated collection shot! :D

The base looks like it belongs with the toy, but I actually bought the base separately from Hashimoto Toy Store. They make bases in different colors and sizes for the purpose of displaying figures etc.

Haha, go figure. Well thanks! I think you are right, it does make a very ideal display for single figures (or groups, like the large M1 ones). Maybe not ideal for toy shelf displays, but just perfect for an addition on a bookshelf or a desk. I might just have to look into that.

That guy is interesting, a sort of non(or part)-hairy werewolf. A pretty cool horror aspect. Definitely a Halloween orange too.

That thing is beautiful. I love how it doesn't remind me of anything else.

Great piece spacemonkey66. Denboku really does capture the charm to Tezuka perfectly.

Didnt know about the recently released translated Dororo series, I am going to have to pick that up!

Learning that there's a Fletcher Hanks toy had me like...
Please, oh please let there be a Fantomah followup!

All of his character designs were so bonkers and wonderful. In a perfect world, Rainbow would give FH's comix the Barom-1 treatment!

^^ Yep, i've enjoyed the two collections of his comics for years, but I never thought there would ever be a toy made. Especially a really well made sofubi version. Its a quality piece of work and no mistake.

A Fantomah toy would be really cool as well, like you say.

Dangit, I thought I there was something familiar about him! I bought the first collection when it came out, because it looked so wonderful! Haven't read it in a long time tho...

The main difference between the Stardust toy and the comic is it does not constantly change proportions.

Thanks for calling attention to what The Moog had actually posted. I saw the figure and was like "interesting, what a large forehead", but no way I would have connected it to Fletcher Hanks. The only stuff of his I've read was what was included in an anthology called Art Out of Time, and that was years ago. But his stuff kind of sticks with you, ya know? I was glad to learn in the comics thread that some more of his stuff is being reprinted!

[So, I haven't been here in quite some time. I had to stop collecting for awhile due to some financial trauma, but I started back at it a few months ago. Looks like the forums have received an upgrade since I was last here. Feels like a somewhat classier experience.]
