Really like this skull head version! I’m trying to save money and cool stuff like this keeps appearing haha
I’m sure it’s been posted somewhere here, maybe in a Zollmen thread, I just can’t remember or find it. But what’s the vintage source for this figure?
I just saw someone post some images somewhere the other day of the ape version, but it’s from an older metal toy. It looked like it had some magnets in the legs to connect it
Man, I’ve been waiting on this and the Parabola Ace for YEARS, and it finally comes up at a time where I can’t be spendin’ recklessly. Even still, it’s amazing to see these sculpts finally come to fruition, and these Marmit paints are so damn good.
I believe on the target earth website sato said that the black vinyl one may be reproduced repeatedly in order to combat high resale prices. So you may be in luck when you got some money!
and just when getting anything shipped from JP to UK is nigh on impossible, unless the maker uses DHL which costs megabucks.
@Urk Ooh, that’s good news and makes me hopeful! Thank you for that!!! @doomboy Hopin’ there’s some form of reliable shipping method(s) made available. I’ve bit the bullet on expensive shipping, but in rare cases. And shipping DHL is kinda worth the reliability and speed, but it is DAMN pricey!!!
I like the skull head version much more than the gorilla head. Hopefully there'll be another pre-order round for this one.
If the parabola ace description is anything to go by on the target earth blog these may get reproduced constantly to a combat high reseller price. I'm not sure if that's just the case for parabola ace or all target earth. Fingers crossed it's all of em
i hope so! And I agree, the skull head version looks much cooler (to me) then the gorilla version. I really like the colors on the body for that one too, so crossing my fingers I get a 2nd chance on this guy. I thought I’d be safe ordering the following morning due to it being a “preorder” and Kazumitsu’s photo showing how many he made… guess I was wrong haha.
I thought the same but I've learned, after several failed attempts at preorders, that a preorder with sofubi artists aren't unlimited lol
Cool to see the Smogons produced again. The green spray one has some noticeable paint differences with the Hukkokudo one. Interesting that they painted one to look like the vintage Smogon this time.
Which was the vintage color @akum6n ? Might try to grab one at some point. I talked to Sato San today and he said there was no schedule to reprint the hedos. Anyone else interested? Maybe we can rally some troops?
I guess I was slightly mistaken. There were 2 paint schemes on the vintage Smogon. One was the brown stripes / blue face version, which Hukkokudo produced as a repro back in 2007 or so. The second was the blue stripe / red face version, which wasn't produced by Hukkokudo. They did make a clear orange version with somewhat similar colors. I meant the blue stripe one in my post, since we didn't get that one in the past. I would be interested in the Hedos if they do more with swapped color schemes, kind of like what Gargamel did with the minis. If they're just straight repros of the originals, probably not. I had a few chances to buy those over the years and didn't. That said, I think another run of the Hedos (in any colors) would be great for those folks who were not around the first time.
Thanks. I have the clear orange with blue. Very interesting that the orange and blue was never produced. It's a looker. Ah for whatever reason I'm obsessed with those 3 original colors on the hedos. They work so well to me. But any new ones would be great. That's 3 of us! Keep em coming.
That black blank crawling hedo on Manda a couple of years ago looked great , I would deffo be up for a run of those.
