That's exactly what I did after opening my set! I love them so much I want to create their own special display with the Early Bird box, the stands, the booklet and the protos. Those are all selling for so much it'll take me a while to complete the display, but anticipation is half the fun of collecting, right? Mine is exactly the same, the arm is almost loose enough to spin if I blow on it. In a weird way it makes it almost more authentic feeling since I had several Star Wars figures with the exact same problem when I was a kid. This set has made me so happy overall. I buy a lot of different toys from cheap blind bagged Lego figures to Soul of Chogokin and other 'high end' toys and everything in between. For some reason this set has thrilled me more than anything else to come out in 2013. There's magic to it for sure. I'll buy any Alien figures they decide to make, from any of the films including Prometheus. A retro power loader would probably make me black out.
I will have to check in on those arms, mine appear to be rock solid. Thanks a ton for everyone's support on this line, we really appreciate it!
Made a little video review over the past few days http://youtu.be/BpjOBuLLe0Q I love the figures. The Kane I have also has a loose left arm.. no biggie. Can't wait to see what comes next.
I've been listening to the Dismal Jesters podcast featuring Jim Sterling from the Jimquisition video game news show lately. Well Jim collects Alien toys and gives the ReAction set a good mention. EDIT: Not Safe for Work on that podcast!
so the clear alien variant was the super 7 early bird exclusive right? i got my set in and these have to be one of the coolest releases to date
Yes as I was told they will be sold individually too. https://www.toytokyo.com/product/action ... ion-figure
What's this flood of ReAction figures over at Entertainment Earth?? Is it more of a Funko thing than a Super7 thing now??
These do not look like something Kenner would have produced in the 70s or 80s. They look like characters from the Clerks cartoon. I was hoping to get a Predator to face off against my Alien, but this one has the proportions of a Bruce Timm Batman design.
I'm not really feeling them if they are in fact real.. So many lines in one release?? It's like saving up your cum for a whole week to release an over the top milkshake jug filling load. Nightmare Before Christmas has had way too many toy releases already so I don't know why they are a part of this ReAction series for toy lines that never saw the light of day. I'm guessing Funko has more to do with this than Super7 does.. Could be part of the deal for distributing the Alien figures??
Kind of curious so see the Goonies. Nothing looks good so far. I noticed the price went down to $9.99. Got this feeling the Funko quality will really shine on this new batch.
here's the line-up: Universal Monsters Creature from the Black Lagoon Invisible Man Phantom of the Opera Dracula Frankenstein Mummy Wolfman Modern Horror Freddy Krueger Jason Voorhees Michael Myers Pinhead Ghostface Trick'R'Treat Sam The Crow The Crow Escape from New York Snake Plissken Snake Plissken with jacket Terminator Sarah Connor Kyle Reese Tech Noir Terminator Leather Jacket Terminator T-800 Buffy the Vampire Slayer Buffy Oz Spike Willow Gentleman Angel Goonies Sloth Mikey Mouth Chunk Data Pulp Fiction Jules Winnfield Vincent Vega Mia Wallace Jimmie Dimmick The Gimp Butch Coolidge The Wolf Marsellus Wallace Predator Masked Predator Open mouth Predator Closed mouth Predator Invisible Predator Firefly Malcolm Reynolds Zoe Washburne Hoban Washburne Jayne Cobb Kaylee Frye Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Skellington Sally Mayor Behemoth Devil Barrel The Rocketeer The Rocketeer Back to the Future Marty McFly Doc Brown George McFly Biff Tannen
To be fair, the sell-out doesn't always backfire... Yeesh. At least these all serve to highlight how excellent the Alien toys are.
With the right pacing, marketing and QC every one of those ranges could've been cool. The fact that someone had a 'stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap' brainfart has effectively killed any credibility and integrity the line had mustered with the initial Alien release! That said, there's probably a way bigger market for that price point and quality!
Is S7 still running point on the ReAction series or has funko taken over? Will there pre order opportunities like there were with Alien with S7 exclusive figures?
