    Anyone pick it up?

I got it yesterday for PS3...at first it sucked because of load times but then after installing on HD it is much better.
I haven't played an SF game since SF2Alpha for PSX. My thumb is pretty shredded from sliding across the D-PAD but
now I've got the Mad Catz fightpad which is a lot better.....contemplating getting some arcade stick but they're a bit
    on the ++++ $$$$ side.

I've unlocked a bunch of characters...just went through the game with el fuerte and he pissed me off major...damn is he
a crap fighter...I gave up and turned the console off...

overall satisfaction is positive...music sucks, animation movie sequences suck, and everthing else is good.

I was planning on picking up my pre-order yesterday, but I realized I forgot to pre-order one of those fightpads. I don't think I can play SF4 on the xbox 360 with the reg. 360 controller. Hopefully I can find one of those fightpads, or just pick up an arcade stick for the 360 sometime later.

Have you seen how much the Tournament sticks are going for on the bay? That shit is ridiculous.

Do any of you happen to know if there is any advantage to getting this for 360 or PS3, other than the "number of people you know online" aspect?

Going to get it, just can't decide on which platform. :!:

Most reviews I read said both games were pretty much identical, though gamespot's review cliams loading times on the PS3 are a little longer, but if you install the game on the HD it gets as fast as X360's loading times.

im guessing the online play for the xbox 360 version will be a lot better than the ps3.

the game takes a little time to get used to but its still really fun. its almost like being a kid again hahah

I got it on release date here in Hong Kong... I think on the 11th Feb.
It was sold out in half a day.

Last time I played was probably Street Fighter 2 at the arcades and only used Guile.
The speed and precision of the joystick is really good on the x-box.

    Multiplayer is surprisingly fast.
Arcade mode is good but the last guy is very hard to beat.

You guys must get a joystick for this!

How about we play Street Fighter 3: Third Strike for dreamcast instead? It had an online mode...sort of.

it sucks i have a custom made joystick for the ps2 that i can use via the adapter but the joystick part itself is messed up. im getting it repaired right now.

have you guys gone through the challenge modes? the last two sections of the challenge mode can get hard. i forgot the name of it but its not time trial or survival.

on a side note: have you guys seen the madcats SF stick? those things are nice. my friend designed it and had me test it out on a number of games last month and i can say that its one of the best sticks that ive used. the only one that i thought was better was the black and yellow arcade stick made by sega. i believe it was the virtua stick.

    @ legoomba

I was playing some Last Blade on my Neo Geo last night, wishing I owned Last Blade 2 home cart. However, I do have the DC port, and I seriously thought about dragging the system outta my closet. Had I followed through I'd play some 3rd Strike!

LB2 has my favorite music from a fighting game. It also has the best fighting stage ever in my opinion (the burning house).

Street Fighter 4 in my mind is just a huge step back for the franchise. 3rd strike was just such an awesome game, but i guess Capcom has lost a lot of customers going from 2->3.

The Challenge Mode you're talking about is Trial, and yes it can get pretty challenging.

Who is your friend, is it that guy Mark? I picked up a TE stick for the 360 and I have two copies of the game (ps3/360).

And the Joystick you're talking about is the Virtua Stick High Grade, I've never played on it, but it looks nice.

You can play 3rd Strike online using GGPO (http://ggpo.net) if you have the rom.

damn aaron you know your stuff. yes my friend is mark. i used to go over to his house and play tekken all day with him. its still crazy to me knowing that he designed that SF stick.

the virtua stick high grade is nice, its got an all metal case and you gotta love the black case with yellow buttons. its probably one of the best sticks ive used.....next to my custom namco joystick hahah.

that trial mode is hard, i couldnt do ryu's jumping fp, crouching mp, crouching mp, crouching rh combo. it sounds so easy but the timing for it is just ridiculous. i guess i have to practice some more haha.

have you seen any of the japanese tournament videos on youtube? theres this one where a player is using balrog and he does one of the craziest combos ive seen. then again all the japanese players were crazy.

I am having the hardest time with some of the trials, my timing is just way off on the links. SFIV is the first fighting game I've played since MvC2.

I haven't seen any of those videos, would you mind linking me? My plan is to main Balrog, so those will probably be helpful.

It's cool that you know Mark, maybe you can help me get another TE stick. :D

    Man, that was nuts.
I think that guy plays at Arcade Infinity in Rowland Heights, CA. I was there during my winter break, but I was too scared to hop on a machine, those guys are really good.

OK...I really suck. It took me about 2hrs to beat the game with Ryu...on Medium difficulty :(. I won't even make a good practice dummy at this pace.
