Re: Stoner/Doom ^^wow, some amazing shit. such an awesome old school sound. cant wait till I have some free time to listen to it LOUD AS FUCK
Re: Stoner/Doom Yeah! "Two tracks recorded live in an old mental hospital by the damaged minds of a power-trio, high on very potent pot from Salem." Salem where? There's an old mental hospital in Salem, OR - One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest was filmed there.
Re: Stoner/Doom Check out my buddies band Seidr. Been listening to it a lot since its fall. Some good dooms been brewing up in Kentucky over the years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87Qqk_wNFOk love this cover.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDUXWP0UZIw
Re: Stoner/Doom I dont think I've ever posted these guys here before but this is band rules so fuckin hard. One of my favorites right now. S:t Erik play it loud!
Re: Stoner/Doom Cool. Didn't realize they were still around. I got their first demo and full length. Was impressed by how awesome it was for how young they were. He's a witch! Their new stuff reminds me of Ocean Chief. If anyone hasn't checked them out check out the Den Förste album. I was a big fan of that one.
Re: Stoner/Doom graveyard rules. they played a smallish place here in la and i was mashed up front. it was amazing.
Re: Stoner/Doom One of my favorites. I'm loving the new album. Saw them in SF opening for Witchcraft a few years back...with a lame band as the mid act. No one was there when they went on and they played an amazing set. Witchcraft were kinda lame, and Mangus was way too happy when singing doomy songs. I've never looked at them the same since. And then seeing the live footage of the new band with his weird stage moves is keeping me away from checking out the new album. I hate when seeing a band live turns you off from their music. Examples: Causa Sui and Colour Haze.
Re: Stoner/Doom Bummed they're not even playing in LA! I drop up for Sleep so I would've gladly done the same for Om.
Re: Stoner/Doom So I realized that I never put a pre-order in for The Sword's new album! But last night I found it on orange vinyl, Witchcraft on yellow/brown vinyl, and a used copy in good condition of Master of Puppets for $12! Still haven't found Graveyard's new album. I also noticed on the "Upcoming Releases" board that they had Uncle Acid listed. I'm assuming it's just a US release of Blood Lust and not a new album. Anybody know for sure?
Re: Stoner/Doom I asked the only Uncle Acid contact I know of and got a response of "Hmmmm". Oh the mystery surrounding that band. I hope there's a new release soon.
Re: Stoner/Doom That would work too! Although I never did get Blood Lust on vinyl - it's tough to spend $30 on one LP, especially if you also have to pay shipping on top of that. I finally found Astra's The Black Chord at a shop in town ($30), but they were out of Blood Lust. Why does it cost SO much money to ship an LP from England to the US???
Re: Stoner/Doom [grumble grumble grumble] Anybody have a DL link for Witchcraft's Legend? I hate when DL codes aren't included with LPs... (Also wouldn't mind a link for Graveyard's...)
Re: Stoner/Doom Man, I'm all aboard the Om Advaitic Songs train! Previously my only experience with the band was Variations on a Theme, which I never really got into and so I just wrote them off. But after listening to their new album I might have to go back and give some of their other albums a listen!
Re: Stoner/Doom Boo. Metal Blade‘s reissue of Uncle Acid And The Deadbeats‘ “Blood Lust” can be streamed online in full via Brooklynvegan.com.
