Nice assortment there Geekbilly. How tall is the Ultraman in the back towards the left? Speaking of taller Ultraman, does anyone here have any of the Marusan 1966 Ultraman 350 or 450 reproductions? I've always been really curious about those (and not the 450000 yen jewel versions) since the 450 versions are 11.5 inches tall.
Leg Issue So I got some Ultraman figures in this morning. I'm kind of bummed that the M1 Type A version (that came with the pink Greenmon as a set) has standing issues. Is this common? It appears the left leg is shorter that the right and I have to lean him forward a little or he will fall down. Do I need to heat that leg up with a blowdryer, soften it, pull it outward and run it under cold water or something more drastic? That trick only seems to work for a short time, then resets itself. EDIT: Doh I answered my own question yes the trick sort of worked... but for how long? Anyhow since it's a pic thread here is a shot of M1 Type A Ultraman & Marusan 1966 350 Ultraman: I really need to find some of those Yamanaya Ultra Seven figures.
I'm going to keep bumping this thread. Got some more friends in: One more update forthcoming....I know others have Ultraman collections here, what gives? Post some pics!
Great thread that needs more posts! Lixx, who makes that big silver one you have? Is he hard to find? I just got a bunch of ultraman guys coming my way soon, including a grail! WOOT! It kinda bums me out I don't have an ultraman that fits scale wise with my M-1 ultraman humans. Hopefully I can track down one like yours.
The silver Ultraman is a reissue of the Marusan 450. I also have the normal grey version which is pretty easy to come by. Both are Marusan. They did a reissue of Ultraseven also. I have some Bullmark minis coming so I'll have an update in this thread soon.
Great thread Chris. Just an FYI Ultraman Nise is just Alien Zarab in disguise making him a nemesis. The Japanese word "nise" in English just means basically "fake."
Didn't even see your comment. Hell I didn't even notice this thread was created way back in 2012! I thought Chris just created the thread today as it is so empty. Today is just one of those days where I am not paying attention to anything. My head is in the clouds. Getting back on track. The large limited 1984 Bandai Ultraman.
Found a forgotten box of Ultrabeaters in my old room: Hadn't seen any of them since the early nineties! Fun reunion.
Nice bunch of vintage Ultraman there Scott ^^^^ I was on vacation when you posted. Took some pics of some Bullmark Ultraman mini's today. I believe these were in a set that came in a clear case that included Ultraseven, Ultra Taro, Ultra Mother, and these two: Ultraman & Ultra Zoffy. At least that's what the Sato Bullmark book tells me. Don't care about the Ultra Mother but I'd love to find the Ultra Taro from the set: Bullmark Ultraman & Zoffy Minis by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr Bullmark Ultraman Zoffy Mini by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr Bullmark Ultraman Mini by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr Bullmark Ultraman & Ultraman Zoffy minis by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr Have to get all the Ultra Family out for a group shot before school starts. The one summer pic I've definitely been meaning to take.
That M1 reverse Ultraman with the red skin and grey lavender suit/armor is my favorite release ever for this sculpt. In hand the form and Matte finish is amazing. I have yet to see another like it. However, Lixx's big Ulraman figure and what looks like a GID with arms in martial arts mode are just amazing quality, I have come back to look at them many times, now I just have to find them...
OK 90% of it is on one shelf so, just imagine a Bullmark Giant Ultraseven, two US Toy glowies, and two Butanohana with these, then drop the Tiger Seven, Thundermask and Redman (saves me the effort of taking them out and putting them back).
Fantastic shelf Lixx! So many beautiful Ultras there. I must have missed it when you picked up the red Ultraseven, how is it in person? Really like that guy, but have only espied him for outrageous prices.
I was able to get him thanks to an awesome SB'er in Japan who went out of his way to do me the favor. He's spectacular:
Great looking shelf Chris. You are the master of detolf shelf arrangement, super full but you can still see everyone. The ultraseven section is impressive, I like the finger puppet on the bottom left.
Oh wow man, he is even more impressive close up. One of new favourites from your collection. On behalf of yourself, and me living precariously through your collection, massive thanks to the great SBer who helped you out. (now if you are looking to do someone else a favour.... )
Ha! Thanks, yeah I lose my mind when someone goes hiding and I can't see them. I think the trick with these toys is size variation (i.e. rows with pendants, then minis, standards, giants etc) and sometimes very short individual risers (no more than and inch or two tall or wide). Since many of these toys are often very close in size having risers like that really helps. I need that mid/standard Ultraseven by Bullmark that Jordan has. I saw a ton on YJA over the summer but never picked one up, haven't seen many lately.
^^ "master of detolf arrangement," indeed. perfect balance and visibility achieved. wow. not to derail, but does anyone know why there are two bullmark repro ultraman minis, each with arms crossed in the opposite direction of the other? when does he appear with his right over his left? thanks for any insight into this minor mystery. right over left, left over right
^^^ I could be wrong but I think they might be two different variants of Ultraman. I notice slight difference in the eyes/mouth, under the the Bullmark logos where red paint would normally be, and finally just above the boots the ^ is engraved on one, raised on the other.
