I've always loved the color and tecture of the material on these sculpts, Does anyone know the material. Are these Resin protos or still wax, clay?
aku6fm, i think there may have been four daigigons then becasue i bought two of them on yahoo and there was another which was glow in the dark that i wish to hell i had bought now. i just scored the two mini daigigons and one of the mini zags (need other one!)
I have 3 Chiwos, 2 Garumega, 3 Dagigon, 2 mini-dags, 2 mini-zags, and 3 large zags so far. I believe that's all the regular releases of those particular toys. I don't know anything about the one-offs. There is also one called Marine Kong or something like that. I saw a pic on someones flickr of it.
You're doing pretty well there. I'd love to see a collection shot one day. Marine Kong was supposed to be a regular release, but I believe it was pulled due to licensing issues. A small number were sold to the public...
I'm putting up a new display so hopefully pics in the next couple of weeks. Crap i was hoping to score a Marine Kong. What's it based off of to have licensing problems?
http://dribox.g-serve.net/TV/Tvhero/mkong/TV01mkong.htm The Kongs that were sold did not have any name printed on the header. Now that I think about it, this was probably the reason for that.
Sweet new photos of the new Shikaruna character on K-T's flickr... I think its name is Dokuro. I think this one will look amazing with some paint.
I really like this unpainted guy.. Also, I think Dokuro just means (skull) in japanese...almost like a generic term..
I think you're right... looks like the 'Dokuro' name is subject to change on S-K's website. The ram-head guy is named 'Sheep,' so I hope these aren't the final names. Saw that Mighty last night, and I'm not surprised it's still there. That's a pretty sizeable price jack (retail was 8400), and methinks these will show up on YJA eventually as they were probably just shipped out. EDIT: Looks like I spoke too soon- they're already there (as tavaro noted).
I pretty much think the only way to score ANY Shikaruna is through a service like Celga etc (or if you were lucky when KT put it up for sale on their site). Has anyone here, that does not live in Japan, had luck going through the website? Seems like such a tease to keep putting new items each week on the site but only people in Japan can order them. I did contact them once via email and they said international orders were welcome but how to go about that without Celga etc, is beyond me. Some of the sculpts like the Maity I'm not into but I have to admit the colors/ paint-jobs are so amazing (metallics are my fave) that I almost consider getting one on paint apps alone. C.
i know what you mean, i've bought another ultra-limited (one off?) handpaint this week from him and i love his application of color. so, you got a response when enquiring about international orders, huh? what exactly did they say?
Thanks for introducing me to this. Ive been pouring over the shikaruna website ever since the first post....I don't think I've ever been so taken by sculpts before.... they're absolutely breathtaking....even without the great paint jobs. I have a feeling this is the beginning of a long journey for me.
yeah...I just spent money i didn't have on my first piece...this doesn't bode well. It will be worth the overtime. It would be sweet if they would take paypal, or if a reliable North American store could start to carry it. Would be way better than buying from ebay or knundt. Does anybody have any photos of Shikaruna collections?
dang...another maity dropped today(or last night) and is sold out already. This one is nicer than the last too.
