I just happened upon this today and thought it might be interesting for others... http://www.mangajyuku.com/Page/GOODSLIST-22 It's a preview of planned Shikaruna Koubo releases. Some have been previewed at shows, some not. Really incredible sculpts. I can't wait to see the bottom-dweller fish thing released. You can also browse sold-out items here: http://www.mangajyuku.com/Page/GOODSLIST-21
It's interesting when you click on the preview items they all come up as "sold out" also. Their things are amazing! Just wish I knew how to get in on the ordering part of it.
I'm assuming they're "sold out" because there's 0 stock to begin with. Looks like a store / cart system. The squaty rhino-rat-ephant guy on page 2 is very cool. I've always enjoyed the Shikaruna Kobo sculpts. The color choices are definitely top-notch as well. I'm afraid of ever picking any of them because I don't need to collect any other lines / sculpts, but the Genju Gaezal has intrigued me since I first saw it. Speaking of, this version is pretty beautiful, and I can't say I've ever seen it before. On a side note, I wish more toy producers had sites that were as comprehensive as this.
Logang1 and I visited their shop/storefront/house one day last month, while we were in Koiwa visiting the Characters store. When we walked up they were so startled that we were there that one girl spilled a tank of acetone on the floor. However, it was a fun little place with all of the prototypes for new figures and what not. The doughnut Mightyn was pretty awesome. And the sculptor even gave Jason and I a prototype of the new mini zag figure they dropped at Superfestival.
The short of ordering from the website is: unless you live and bank in Japan, you're out of luck on the limited website releases. That Gehju was a run of 5 pieces sold direct from S-K's website. One day I'll find a way... but until then, Celga is your friend (or at least an expensive date).
perhaps our friends in japan might petition for us hardcore US Shinkaruna fans? i would love to get almost one of every toy he has up here. It's absolutely amazing when you look at how prolific they are and every one of them a new sculpt! no borrowed hands or bodies repeated endlessly here with a different paint job. this guy does each and every toy from the ground up! that alone just begs me to heap him with all my money! Of all he has upcoming, this is the one i want the most!
Thanks for the links! Interesting, I wonder how they decided what to include among these soldout pics - They show 4 different paints of the Gehju Gaezal, but I can think of two others offhand that are not shown (red/green on cream and what may be the best of them so far, the neon paints on GID) - Hard to believe those two are not also sold out - anyone know?
Definitely my favorite sculpt as well. Can't wait to see some of these painted. Hopefully soon as these teasers are killing me. Chris
i like that one too, abelincoln, it has such a demonic expression. along the same line, i really like the duck looking character too. the closeup on the face is what really makes it for me, his attention to detail is amazing, and love all the grec0-roman curls around the head
For the past year, all I've wanted is a bad ass werewolf vinyl, and I know there are probably a few of you who think the werewolf isn't interesting or new enough. But when I saw the Shikaruna werewolf sculpt, I was pumped, I was really really hoping it would be the next figure, and it's not even there. There are some awesome sculpts there though, but I'm missing the werewolf.
Incredible sculpts on that list... Top shelf. The 'evil' unicorn and mammoth/elephant like creatures sure have a lot of meat on the bones.
I remember seeing some pics (was it stealthtanks?) of their stuff and it had minifigs of people running in terror and the like... I SO want some of those
the sculpts are remarkably detailed & original, but still have an identifiable look to them. Agreed about the fish. I expect they'll only get wilder from here.
abe-- that one rules playdoh-- that one fucking rules as well I'm gonna need to go up an income bracket if my girl is ever gonna let me buy all this stuff. The horse kicks ass too. I'm really also feeling the hamburger/frog monster with all those hands stretching out from inside its flesh.
far as i know slack, there were two official garumagas and the same (maybe 3) of chios. there are a number of limited chios tho and i imagine he's done a few of the garumagas as well but i haven't seen any. those two chios he has on his site are beautiful! i would love to get that one with the clay colored neck, wild ass right on with the colors on that one!
These are some really amazing sculpts, but, I guess I am alone in digging the T-28 figures the most...
thanks, do you know how many versions of the 2 headed thing there have been? I think it's called Dagigon? Also, are they making a mini for each standard size sculpt?
Were the chiwos, garumega, and gaezael designs original creations or based on old illustrations like some of the others?
3 standard Dagigons so far... two sold at a show, and a purple version sold off the website. I think there are 50 pieces of each. It looks like most of the minis will be monsters from the "Sekai no Kaiju" book. As far as other colorways of the first few sculpts go, I know that S-K did release some secret versions (like a yellow Chiwos). Don't know if these were one-offs or just very limited runs, but they're out there. Z- Chiwos, Garumega and Gaezal are original S-K designs.
