    Monsieur Passe? :(

Hopefully I got the points I thought were important in there, as a positive move from both camps. Struggling to make sense today.

Ha, I was referring to @TiredChildren 's post, @toothaction. I like Monsieur Aubaine. It makes me sound worldly. :D

    Edit: I have a cause!

Dearest JP, please let it be known - I refuse to use purple lately. So my sarcasm must hurt before it is understood. ;)

Now someone please point me to the threads that should be moved into the China cabinet.

Are we under attack? Seems like the forum has been down a few times lately.

In addition to some image viewing problems I have mentioned here and there, where I only see an {IMG} marker, but no picture, another thing that has been happening to me for some time is double posting. There seems to be some quirk with my system [Windows 7, Firefox, laptop] that its interaction with the forum repeatedly causes double posts when posting a reply in a thread. This is pretty annoying as well as cluttersome, when I have to go back and constantly delete the extra posts. I would say it happens at least 50% of the time, as in, not an isolated case. When I click Post Reply the page will typically reload with the new post shown at least three times in a row, and after I refresh or go back to the thread discussion there will be two posts (one duplicate). Anyway, just mentioning here by way of having a record of the issues, and to see if anyone else is having this issue.

Has anyone been experiencing problems using the messaging function today? I am not sure if a change was made to the board, a general change to the browser software, or maybe my computer is just a piece of junk (also likely in any case), but something is screwy with the JS that I am unable to open/read/send/anything via the message interface without it causing a complete crash of the system. I know Adobe has finally pulled Flash after years of complaints, but I would really like to be able to just move on and have browsers that didn't hang up each time I load a page. Doesn't seem to be affecting any other areas of the board or me posting in threads (hence, this)

So, apologies in advance to anyone sending PMs (or those who already have) right now/the last little while. I promise I'll do my best to get back to you once I can figure out the issue.

    I noticed the same issues.......

Thought it was due to being on a phone but tried via laptop and had same results.

Thanks for checking on this Steve.

WTF is up with the search engine here? I could care less about new threads, when I dig here I want old threads. How come everytime I use a search here it only gives me stuff from the last 5 years or so and limits me to 10 pages? Like if I search "shikaruna" I want posts going back to 2006-2007 not only the ones that go back to 2012. I see you can select 'posts newer than' but thats counter productive for me. I need posts 'older than'

I just Google search within Skullbrain.org. Something is definitely busted with the search function on the board.

Search is set to a limit of 200 results by default with our current forum software. I just upped it to 2,000 results. That won't show all results to a search, but it will give you a ton more. Search is going to be slower now, and I doubt we'll be able to go higher than 2,000 results without having a pretty big impact on the speed of the forum overall.

Thanks James, yeah I don't want to break skullbrain I just noticed today I was getting limited results. Is there a way you can perhaps search by year (or could we add that feature?)

Thanks for this change, James. Not sure anything would ever warrant 200+ results on here, and if so, probably doesn't really need to be searched. I think more of the issue for most people is string-limitation and how the software actually returns hits, but this is definitely going to improve things.

Yeah I immediately searched shikaruna and got back to the dates I was looking for (2007). I'm working on that collection database and I can't remember when some of these minis came out.

Image embedding seems broken; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and I can't even edit the post to remove the broken tags...

Can we make it so when I enter my instagram name in contact details it doesn't get cut off at beautification_synd and I can type the whole name in : beautification_syndrome thus going to a unavailable wrong user name page when the link is clicked. I realize it's long but the cut off should not be 18-19 characters. Make in unlimited.

@Lixx - Can't make it so with my feeble tool kit, but perhaps @TiredChildren can take a swing at the problem.

Forgive me Skullbrainers because I'm sure this has been answered before, but I haven't been able to find an answer. How does one currently get a photo from Flickr to show up? I've been pasting the URL as requested using the "image" button but all I get is a placeholder symbol. Alternately, when I try to post a photo from Instagram, it posts twice with some needless photo data. I haven't been as active here since the latest forum software updates so I regret my ignorance about something so basic.
