^^ Trophies/Post counts/likes/ Can we get rid of them? It seems silly. I reference the board for knowledge. In 9 years..I have a bunch of inane post...but some...Yowsas. 8000 posts in 9 years is embarrassing. If there is any way to hide my message count and keep registration date let me know.
bringing this up again because I noticed it being a problem for me. like if someone bumps a sale thread that's a few pages long and you wanna click right to the first post to check it out. even if the page is only one page long, you still would have to scroll back to the top. we all know sometimes seconds matter
Can we maybe add in a function for PM convos where it also takes you to the last post? I can understand for threads you have read, where it sort of makes more sense to start at the first post (such as for sales and such) but for PMs is it kind of annoying because you never really want to go back and read through all the history - but of course can still do so if you choose. With the nature of convos, being very much an on-going discussion thing, it seems intuitive to always just jump to the end, so you can read, write again, whatever. As it is now, the quick links in the mail alerts (upper right) as well as clicking on the titles when under the Conversations subheading, will always take you to the start of a read series. Since/if you have read something, you no long have the ability to click on the posted time to jump to the last one, so you are forced to use this method. i.e. the system works for unread messages, but not as much for continuing on with read ones that you either want to keep going, or just did something in the interim before replying.
What's a PM? And yes, what you've described is perplexing and more than a bit annoying. Easy to backseat code, I know, but the whole 'conversation' system seems like it could use a world of tweaking.
James, i'm really enjoying the new board, especially the status post feature. But where is the goddamn favicon.ico?!?
^^ Joe, once omnipresent on the board, did a whole series of emoticons. I'm pretty sure the damnedron was his. http://skullbrain.org/bb/index.php?threads/new-emoticons.18419/ I would't mind the lil smogun
James? Experiencing too much free time? https://www.flickr.com/photos/fiendsaintfamily/sets/72157608966619761/
This has been bothering me for a while now. My favorites are all in the bookmark bar with no text so the favicon is my only signal which is which. The icon for Skullbrain defaults to some other random favicon in my bookmarks for some reason. It would be pretty cool to finally have a favicon!
BTW, I was being hyperbolic with my rage disorder comment. Totes tongue in cheek. Here is a favicon file based on the apple icon http://bwest.sdf.org/sb/favicon.ico
FYI I put the favicon in, it might take a little while for it to show up in your browser depending on your cache.
I have a weird question to try and figure out how to post photos onto a thread directly from Instagram. I'm imagining it requires a ton of permissions and weird code that I don't know. Any suggestions? I find I don't post many photos here Bc I put them on IG but at the same time I'd like them to post here. I'm just too lazy to download the photo onto my Mac and its though to do the imgr code thing on mobile for my fat fingers.
Easier than you think, g --- there's an IG button, 4th from the right, in the posting options: Just realized that you were asking an entirely different question than the one I was answering. Oops. Spoiler: Irrelevant babble You can just plop this bit BGFhcOvIOzI from the addy of the pic you want to post between the tags that the button generates: View this post on Instagram This is probably described in a less clumsy fashion elsewhere in this thread. EDIT: Some relevant discussion about your concern. @gatiio
Haha. No worries @toothaction it still is useful. I was not aware of that button. It answers a question I also had.
WoOohoOo!!! I know it's a small thing but it's so damn satisfying for me, thanks James and @blakewest
