...and mine doesn't even flop around that much inside the box... but I agree, looks like it could do with an inbox tray or something.
Feel for you guys, such an awesome range of figures to be spoiled by shoddy (if great-looking) packaging. Glad at least one came with the foresight of a bag. I hope you have equal luck on the gorilla.
Vacuformed trays would probably be quite expensive to produce for something like this. Maybe something like a flat cardboard insert that wraps around the feet, sits behind the figure and ties to the midsection of the figure would work. These were meant mostly for toy show sales; probably not packaged for long distance shipping...
The figure is strapped at the feet, but that didn't do anything. A simple bag like the other figure would have worked. Like I said though, it's not to bad. I just can't display it in the box. The window has skuff marks on it from the hand and face.
Got mine. Only the raised fist has some rub off, the face is fine. It's smaller in hand than I expected, I know I read the dimensions but still thought it'd be slightly more RxH dimensions. Still really nice, not sure if I'm going to open it, I really like the box. But it's so un-me to keep it boxed up. Sigh ::first world problems::
Mine arrived today too, fist has some scuff marks and the face has a pretty major scuff mark. You can actually see where there toy moved in the box and the paint is left on the clear plastic part of the box, I'll take pics later tonight. But all in all this toy is INSANELY cool, wish they were a little bigger, but even at this size no detail was left undone. The package is also AMAZING, even the the flaps on the box that are tucked in and hidden have the skull printed on them. BEAUTIFUL creation all way around scuff or no scuff!
Here are a couple of pics of the paint rub on mine. Still no less happy with this little fella, super cool toy.
Bummer. He forgot the support tabs on the top and bottom like the old Bullmark Missile firing vinyls. I'm sure he learned from this.
Here's a out of the box shot. Blue base vinyl. Luckily no scuff on the face but there's some on the fist. The black suit version suffers the same fate with the same scuffs on the face though. Still amazing little fella. And the tank SWIVELS!!!
Wow I wasn't expecting him to be the same size as a buta figure. Those tanks rule, the fig is great too.
didn't know these guys were that small. as much as i enjoy toys out of their bags or boxes, this one looks great in the box.
That's the (other) "rub" - at this size they should be cheaper. Or at that price they should be bigger. One or the other.
How does size equate price? I have to think that these involve substantially more work than many of the large vinyls that cost $90+ at non-JP retail. The level of detail and polish on these fully justifies the retail price to me.
Well, I can't justify the price for the size. I hear you on the details, but it's still too small for me to spend $100+ on.
