just found this on their website, under the FAQ's...

"How do I know if my bid on an item has been successful?
Dan Morphy Auctions notifies successful bidders the Monday after the sale by e-mail (if provided), with a hard copy following in the mail.

How do I pay for my invoice?
All merchandise must be paid for in full within two (2) weeks of the date of the sale. We accept: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, personal checks, certified checks, wire transfers, money orders, cash and PayPal (see section titled "Buyer’s Premium" under "Guide for Buyers"). Make checks payable to: Morphy Auctions. Make PayPal payments to: info@morphyauctions.com. Dan Morphy Auctions reserves the right to hold items paid for by personal check until said check clears. Call 717-335-3435 to pay your invoice by phone."

so, i guess we will find out sometime between now and thanksgiving if we have won?
i think they could have handled that part better, but oh well. i am just trying to gauge how much plasma i need to sell off.

The max bid on your absentee bid account, may or may not reflect the final high bid or ending bid.

For example, in "my account" I bid on the Marushin diecasts and it appears like I won because my max bid is green in "my account" suggesting I was not outbid.
However I watched the live auction for the lot and it ended for more than I bid.

So unless you saw the live auction and the final price, I don't think you can assume you won based on your account info. : (
Kind of odd they didn't connect the live bids with the absentee bids to reflect the final price.

I wish someone who was there would get on his/her laptop and fill in some blanks  The main question I think a majority of us have is who did/what/when our absentee bids came into play during the actual auction.

I definitely was watching the lot I bid on (was signed in and everything) and it definitely ended lower than my max absentee bid so if I do not win it I'd be really surprised.

Sounds like you won if you actually saw the price it ended at and your absentee bid was the highest one.
There is one auction I missed because flash doesn't work on my iphone so I have no clue if I won or lost.
I guess I'll find out monday unless they post results this weekend.

Wasn't there a Toybox DX after party? The Morphy staff are all probably out celebrating with them. ; )
Good suggestion Mike, I'll give them a buzz tomorrow but it'll be tossing and turning in anticipation tonite.

I would think people would be burned out. The auction lasted 8 hours or so.

I think they contract out some of the services as well. The online before bidding was through auctionflex, so you had to get another username. The sites looked identical but the domain name changes. I know they have to bring all the data together along with the bidding that day both in person, absentee and online-live. Eventually the data should be on the site. I think you can look at previous auctions over the last few years.

FWIW, I both called in bids and placed some through the net once I got to a computer with no firewall problem. After the vinyl auctions ended, I called and they were able to tell me over the phone which "phone" bids I won but said it would be a day or two before they could let people who bid via the internet know whether they won. I'm guessing those emails will go out Monday per the website and from what I can tell based on older Morphy auctions, maybe a couple of weeks after that they'll post the final prices for all the lots via a pdf.

Thanks. Yeah, that was my question. It would make sense that the systems are not updated simultaneously, i.e., the online bidding only reflects online bids placed through that system.

Another thing I noticed, and I hope this does not come into play at all, but if I was logged out from live bidding and hit backpage I'd suddenly be logged into another account. One time I was mike c etc etc- which I'd quickly log out of again. I hope I don't get some huge morphy bill because I never did any live bids, and just had the one absentee bid on lot 64.

Same exact thing happened to me. As a matter of fact the same type of thing happened in my absentee bidding as well. Suddenly I had another user ID from the UK or something. Definitely a few glitches to work out.

hey guys, i just called that number above, spoke with a nice chap named John.

you can ask them what any of the lots ended at, he will tell you and he will also tell you if you were the winner of that lot. i confirmed that i won #9 (for 450) and #37 (for 1300).

also pretty stoked, i got a steal on #84 for $100.

hopefully that will help to put some of our minds at rest, i tossed and turned all night wondering what i had won and how much my bill was going to be.

well, it looks like all of my auctions are done. it was a fun ride!

i probably won't be around later, i am wondering if someone can keep an eye on lot #1229. i am curious what it goes for. i think it is one of the most beautiful pieces i have ever seen, but with what i have already spent i can't justify another 500+ purchase.

Any doubles you want to part with from #37? Just asking because I underestimated that one by sooooooo much. Feel silly, actually.

I signed up just to check and mine ended at 250 (my bid was 300) but in the bid history it kept saying ON SITE Bidder, I hope that was my guy placing absentee bids and not just random people bidding and winning it without my bid being placed. I'd like to call but I'm in G/F land at the moment. :|

    Chottomatte- thanks for the tip.

Those websites have some sort of account management issue... I was just surfing around Morphy's site and it showed that I was logged in with an e-mail that I don't recognize. And I'm not even registered with them.
