They do indeed make a very, very nice picture. I'm curious, Mike, are there any problems with the MAT figures? I was really after those but the firewall at work kept me from bidding on that lot. They went super-cheap and are really nice figures (make me feel better and tell me they're covered in writing/splits in the helmets, etc.
The jack guy has super loose legs. They move and move the figure around. The ace guy look worse up close. But the large jack guy in the bag has his gun, so that is pretty cool.
Those are okay. If you want to trade gomoras let me know. I think it came from the same source as the black king.
damn... just got off the phone with Morphy. they havent even shipped my stuff out yet. i paid for it on 11/19/09. the lady on the phone couldnt even give me an estimate as to when they would actually be shipping it. really bummed by that, would have thought they would have at least shipped it by now.
I just got mine today and my wife paid on the 19th as well. Pics later cause I got some questions as to what a couple figs are that were in my lot.
when i was on the phone, the lady said to me "let me ask our shipping guy if he sent yours out yet" and all i could think was "holy shit, there is ONE DUDE to handle shipping of all these things?" question, did any of you received a shipping confirmation or tracking # email of any kind? i just dont want to keep running to the PO Box every day after work if they havent even shipped yet.
Here's the lot, the Jet Jaguar is the only one that had a bag or header. Here are the ones in question, both are Marmit, just don't know names and any info.
wow....what a beautiful figure. i have no idea what it is, but if you decide to get rid of it please let me know. that thing is seriously awesome
The guy with the propeller looking thing on his head is Tepeto from Ultra Seven. The other figure is Dodongo from Ultraman. Great scores, really love the JJ! I never noticed before, but it looks like you would have to cut the Mazer cannon to put it together?
My box went out yesterday and Morphy sent me an email confirmation with tracking info. I was also surprised it took them so long to ship.
If you consider how much there was to sort out and pack, I think you'd be more surprised that they are shipping as soon as they are. ...and that Dodongo is way cool. Gigabrain Jet Jaguar is like no other with lots of articulation. I love the one I have.
Thanks for the info. Not really feelin the Dodongo, will probably get rid of him cheap. I'm struggling with putting that cannon together or not, I really hate to cut the vinyl. Yeah the JJ has 15 points of articulation it's crazy.
Yup...but like I said before, roughly 36 hours to parse literally thousands of vinyls (believe me, there were CRATES of vinyls that didn't even make it into the auction!). As such, there simply wasn't time to note the condition of the vintage figures. Of those, we took quick-n-dirty pics so Jim could help us identify what was what and organize them into lots based on value (assuming glaring flaws). Then, back into the vault... Over the course of the next month or so, we had to write the descriptions and value estimates based SOLELY on low-res versions of the same pics you see in the catalog. We explicitly asked what figures (if any) had writing on their feet, as that would drastically affect the value estimates. And we got nothing... So, long story short...had we known if any writing was on any of the figures' feet, we fuck-damn right woulda said something. Next time (and, yes, there probably will be a next time from Morphy's), we're going to demand things operate quite a bit differently. We're still in discussion with them about it...
