Thanks, Roger. I didn't measure its height, but very likely. It is taller than a Longneck's Majin. @rattanicus @Mr. Humphreys Thanks, fellas.
I took photos of the Marusan Original Kaiju that are on display at Monster Patrol. They don't have all of them there, but they have many: https://imgur.com/a/jRHjxPN Kaminaga-san told me something interesting about Gosura, the giant-sized two-headed pachi Gomora. He never reissued it himself because it looks too much like the real Gomora, but when Marusan and Medicom collaborated on creating new tooling to sell a reissue, they were only able to release it after getting an Ultraman license from Tsuburaya.
The stars aligned and the super oversized beast fell into my lap, how bout them apples, never saw it coming.
W.____O.____W.___ Just an unbelievable toy adoption there. My sincere and deepest congratulations and respect on that giant Doragiras, Josh. Such an epic toy - and one I have dreamed of many times. You really don't see the extra big fella come up for sale at all anymore, and to actually win one is just incredible. This is the heart of true vintage collecting right there. And couldn't have happened to a greater dude, too. Well done, sir. An incredible way to wrap up the year. (and he is in superb company, too) Thank you very much for sharing, and all the best tips of ye olde hats to such a wonderful new member in an excellent vintage family.
@joshuajh im floored, an absolute dream toy for me. HUGE congrats. SB score of the year as far as im concerned. Now where are you going to display it?
Returned to see Joshuajh's pic several times today, they are just gorgeous vinyl perfection in four sizes
Does anyone have the story behind the suits they made for these guys? I've only ever seen this one for Tortos Kaitos and the ones in the kaiju sinbun pamphlet posted earlier in the thread. The existence of these earnestly made, well-crafted suits for these clumsy, nonexistent kaiju is endlessly amusing. On a related note, the tongue-in-cheek 'badass' official art brings so much joy with the comparisons they invite to the toys. Thanks to Roger for posting that screencap. I hope more of it is floating around on the web somewhere, because it's too charming to be lost to time...
From Kaminaga-san: The Totutos, Zagaraus and Ultra-A suits were made for a DVD called Sailor Fight in 1997 and were used again on the TV series Voicelugger in 1999.
