Glenn told me last week at the S7 store that the maker of clear vinyl went bankrupt and all orders for clear vinyl figures had to be placed before end of the year because once it's gone, it's gone for good. No more clear JP vinyl for any of the manufacturers until someone buys up the rights or takes on making it themselves. I'm not even sure if that's possible.
Whoa. What? Is it possible to still buy the clear vinyl now and not use it until later? This is some bad news...
yeah no more clear vinyl apparently doesn't mean that manufacturers haven't had orders filled with current stock, but going forward it will be interesting to see if a company picks up the slack.
Yikes! If this is true some figures are going to climb the charts in value now! Never gonna complete my clear with color BBs set now...
I'd like to see something nuts like a "Lucky Bag" but it'd just contain different colored body parts unpainted (but in proper ration 2-arms 1-head 1-body 1-armor?!? etc) of random RxH figures. Kind of like the mix parts Bemon, but you just don't know what the hell you're getting. Than a few lucky get a real painted figure. That'd be a cool "incentive" type deal that'd be more fun than the usual run around of stuff.
Anniversary bag would be cool...1-2 regular, 2 minis, and some various others with a chance for a hand painted figure. With all the sculpts Mori has made, you could almost have 50 bags and each one be unique. Just make sure mine is all Mutant Heads
I think that only limited to a certain period because the material cost at least slashed 50% as I know.
Sorry to continue the derail. Maybe this discussion requires a new thread... ...but am I to understand that there is a single supplier of clear vinyl that fills the demand from all manufacturers of clear figs? I am far from an expert on the manufacture of JP vinyl but that seems crazy. I hope the flow of clear doesn't stop or slow too much. Clear is too cool to lose.
You are right, this is crazy. In china, in a single region. There are more than 10,000 supplier of vinyl material.
I also find it hard to believe that there is only one clear vinyl maker in all of Japan. If clear goes out, toy makers better start getting creative to replace that void
