We'll have a race to the bottom
I think the metallic paint applications on these are top notch.
The mech suit drivers remind me of Vile/VAVA from Mega Man/Rockman X.

Get ready for a new level of hype.
@HBCoffin I knew I'd seen that mech suit before in a Megaman game, just wast sure which.
I wouldn’t pay more than 300 for that digital print garbage (kong is certainly digital too - almost certainly handled in house by Medicom). Way too much output way to quickly, with expectations for money money money… ‘Just you tell me how much wanna pay’ as a gallery sales method? Vomit….
I would like to pay nothing, he's not replying to me!
Seems to be a sales method growing in popularity, in the past few weeks I’ve seen it used now also by longneck and black pearls.
Just lost interest as it all spiraled out of reality and moved on.
When is he going to start selling NFT BS? I really wonder.
I really like the Silver walker, but would agree the buying method is crazy.
The blue eyed gorilla, dies have an anal steam vent if that pushes anyone in into the must have territory.
Gotta say upfront that I'm not a fan of the toys, selling methods, and price, but I am curious about these latest metallic "toys". I second the fact that these look technically impressive. Are they really still made of vinyl? Do the arms articulate at the shoulder, elbow, and wrist, or is the arm just one piece for these types of toys? A stupid question here, are these still considered toys or are they sculptures? I can't imagine playing with them, or would you? Just curious.
p.s. @SpectralNight , thank you for sharing the photos! It's helpful to see what people are talking about.
You bring up an interesting point I've been thinking about. Several of the new sculpts don't look like they're painted on Japanese vinyl. I could be wrong, but something about the sheen, or lack thereof, has me wondering.
i guess i should put a warning before i say this, so it doesnt make things tense or sound like im attacking anyone.
isn't that how art houses do things too?
i'm sure a kaws show, the price on pieces kind of depends on who you are. even so, if you're a no name with $ they might just skip over you because Pharrell has the money too and wants it, might even get it at a discount over X person.
just extending out the conversation is all.
Maybe they should bring huge flower arrangements to the KAWS shows
I kinda like the new dork ass looking cartoony robo gorilla.
Sellin’ shit to “this person” over “that person” because of perceived public eye is not only some clown shit in my opinion, but also only lends to the poisoning of this hobby being about status. Pullin’ a favor or hookin’ up someone you admire is one thing, but intentionally takin’ the equal opportunity away from one over another for potential recognition is weak, even if it’s a smart “business move,” which neither Hirota nor Kaws need to worry about.
Wigum cyclop toy on instagram
Wow that cyclops wiggum is just... Wow.
hirota went from cult to kidrobot in record time
Nah... can't find Gorilla-ju blind boxes at Barnes & Noble quite yet.
i dunno, it's just funny some don't like Hirotas approach to the sales methods... ideally it's an auction... some have actively did this the exact same way, and i'll just leave it at that. if X artist and X collector can do it with no real light shed about it here... but Hirota gets the shit? this whole new age soft vinyl we all collect kind of stems back to Hirota. Do you feel there's a S7, Lulu, MVH, Bemon, Pushead, without Hirota and the family factory? I need to clarify not just the pulls, but I mean the finks and the Crocs got a lot of people hyped and interested in this world.
Can someone post the pic for us that don’t know his IG?
Hot take, I really like Cyclops Wiggum. I haven't been a huge fan of a lot of HxS' output as of late, but this guy is super fun. I just hope it won't be impossible to get, and maybe it'll be more in line with the Harryhausen HxS stuff.
You forget to put this shit in purple?
