Eh? Bronze? I guess I really need to learn to take better pics cause there's no bronze on that Bako. It's just brown, metallic pink, metallic blue...and red and black for the eyes. Are my pics that bad?
In general your pics are fine, but the Bako pics do strike me as a bit 'flat' by comparison. Like Phil said, it probably has a lot to do with the tone of the background and main colors of the fig being too close together. I really dig that Chaos III as well, even if it does have an awful lot of metallic colors for someone who is constantly calling out the use of metallics The colors on it are really good though, and work well for being such a varied palette. The thing hellopike said about the sprays on the knees makes sense. The only other thing that stuck out to me is that I would have hit the toe-guards with a different color to break up the shoes. The rest of the figure is so detailed that the boots seem a bit odd all in one color. Regardless, I would say your airbrush it working fine!
Toe guards...hmmmm. I guess I missed those. I painted the knuckles green so I probably would have done the same with the toe guards. This guy is probably half metallic. I also painted the Yamobazooka's boots in silver and will probably keep them that way. I like them cause they sort of remind me of tokusatsu boots but I will probably spray the toe guards on the Chaos III and leave the boots on the Yamobazooka the way they are.
This must be the "puck-to-the-face" custom...and 2 nights later, you tried to do the bruised colorway on your ankle. Is it time to give up hockey?
There's a bunch of other stuff on flickr. I'm keeping the Ojisan but if someone wants the Monster, I'd be happy to trade it.
Drazoran will be at Dragatomi's Year of the Dragon show This is also going to be at Dragatomi's Year of the Dragon show
Did someone pick this up (a few years ago)? PM me if you did. Also, I'm going to start doing commissions again.
Okay... How much to make these little guys look like they rolled out the Bullmark factory, circa '71?
^ Umm, can we pool resources and just have an entire run please? In all seriousness though, Bert, your custom work is fantastic. I have had a good number of toys I owned - and others I wanted to buy - that I wanted to get customised, but just don't have the skills or touch to execute. I think it is sheer wonder that some of the people on here like yourself do, and am so appreciative of the offer to undertake these things (god knows we are already a picky bunch). So, I just want to express here my thanks here to you, and other customisers, for everything you have added to this community. Adding you to the top of my list, if that's okay with you, since we have fewer and fewer folks working on commission here anymore.
I have to bring this Dempagon over to the next page. Fantastic work, someone certainly got a real gem in that one. I also need to share another personal favourite 'bert custom (not mine, though I might sure wish it). This guy is oh so lovely:
